Product Description

Create a safe place for your pet to play with the Stay+Play Wireless Fence. This sleek unit emits a circular, adjustable signal around the central transmitter that communicates with your pet’s rechargeable receiver collar. To use, place your transmitter, adjust the wireless signal and use short, fun training sessions to teach your pet his or her boundaries. Should your pet attempt to cross the signal barrier, a harmless static correction is emitted to teach your pet to stay within the boundary. The Stay+Play Wireless Fence covers an area with a diameter up to 210 feet (¾ an acre), and is portable, so you can take the Stay+Play with you when your travel or if you should move. Give your pet outdoor freedom while keeping your peace of mind with the Stay+Play Wireless Pet Fence.

How it Works

The Stay+Play Wireless Fence creates a circular boundary for your pet to be contained from 22 to 105 feet in all directions (up to 210 feet across). The Boundary is adjustable with a turn of the dial.

Set the Transmitter in the center of your pet’s play area and plug the Transmitter into an indoor electrical outlet close to the area where you wish to contain your pet outdoors. You temporarily define the Pet Area with Boundary Flags for a visual aid in training your pet. The Transmitter sends a constant radio signal in the Pet Area.

Your pet receives a warning tone from the lightweight, waterproof collar as he approaches the Boundary Zone. If he strays further, he receives a safe Static Correction reminding him to return to the Pet Area. The collar offers five levels of Static Correction, plus a tone-only option, so you are sure to find the right fit for your pet’s temperament. With just a few short training sessions, you’ll create a secure boundary for freedom and fun.

The Pet Area cannot be changed into a square or rectangular shape. A variety of factors including terrain, topography and metal objects may affect operating range

Popular Uses for the Stay+Play Wireless Fence

Once your pet has learned the system at home, you can then introduce travel. Your pet should be aware of the warning tone and not go past the boundary, no matter where you are.

- Contain your pet at the park.

- Take the Stay + Play Wireless Fence on vacation.

This unit is crap!!! It shocks without any reason. Left collar laying close by unit to observe and it tones/shocks without reason. My poor puppy is a wreck. Sometimes you can go out in the yard, others it shocks her at the door. I have the thing set at 6 so there shouldn't be shocking at the door that's only 6 ft from the unit! Guess I'm stuck since I bought in March 30. Should of bought in a box store because I'd gotten 90 days to return.

I was very excited when I received the unit in Nov 2011. It was easy to train our lab and she adapted very well to the collar on her neck. It worked flawlessly during the last year (would have given in five stars during that time) until the night before when our dog was in her crate. She typically knows the routine that she needs to go in the crate when the family leaves the house as she is still in her chewing phase, but this time no one was leaving. She finally ventured out but was not herself. She is a very outgoing dog but coming out of the crate she was very submissive and had her tail between her legs. When she layed next to my wife her hind legs began to tremble. We though that maybe she got it to something so a late night trip to the vet was made. Well after a few hours and $225 dollars later the vet had no answers, especially since she was beginning to perk up. We brought her home and as a put the collar on her inside the house it begins to beep and I got a shock. It turns out that the tranmitter was on the frits and the collar was not receiving a signal so my dog was randomly receiving shocks. She is now just beginning to feel comfortable in the house. Until this problem is I fixed I can not recommend the wireless fence.

So far I'm giving this two stars because I haven't been driven to outright "hate" it.........yet, but I definitely am very frustrated with it and "don't like it". We already have a PetSafe unit model #100 which is the old version of the now 300. It was easy to set the flags for that unit, with consistent reproducible results when testing it. However this model has consistently rendered *inconsistent* results when testing flag placement. So I finally called the manufacturer. I give their customer service 5 stars. They are very available and helpful. Apparently there's a specification for use of this model that they fail to mention in the write-up. I was told by the rep that this particular model emits a "dome-shaped" signal field, which essentially means that it can't be used where the area it will be used is sloped. The rep said that sloped areas seem to cause the signal to be unstable, so the collar could end up beeping (and shocking) *anywhere* within 10 feet of it. My dog was getting fully well past the flags but getting shocked (with no beep warning) on the way back. Horrible! The other model 100 (aka 300) emits a ball shaped field, so it can handle sloped areas and offers a more stable signal under these conditions. At present I'm extremely frustrated with this item and am considering returning it.

I received my Stay and Play yesterday and quickly began set-up, following the manual instructions. When I plugged in the transmitter base, nothing happened. No blue "on" indicator light as advertised, so I consulted the troubleshooting area of the manual after trying another outlet and ensuring the adapter was securely plugged in the the base and wall outlet to no avail. The manual has a specific area for just this problem. The answer? Call customer service, so I did. The representative told me that it is an adapter issue but PetSafe does not cover it in the warranty, so it would be a $15 replacement charge. I was stunned, and so reiterated that it just arrived hours before. His response was to "return it to whatever retailer you bought it from then". I will. What I will also do is find another company that has reliability and integrity. Thank goodness Amazon stands by products even when manufacturers don't!!

I have 3 Belgian Malinois, a Black Lab, and a new yard without a fence. I did a lot of research and ordered the Stay and Play and then ordered 3 extra collars. The unit is pretty compact and neat looking and is about the size and shape of a blender without the pitcher on it. I plugged in the unit and was pleasantly surprised to see that all of the collars worked with the unit without doing anything to them at all. I thought I would have to sync them like you would garage door opener.

Our house is 3400sq feet (2 stories). We placed the unit about 4 ft. off the ground near a window that opens to the back yard. The unit throws out a signal that allows the dogs to roam a petty large perimeter all the way around the house. We could have allowed the dogs to roam farther in the back yard, but the signal would go too far in the front yard which would give the dogs access to the street. Too bad you can't send the signal out in the shape of a baseball diamond, instead of in a circle.

I watched the youtube videos on how to set up the unit and how to train the dogs to learn the boundaries. I had trouble at first in flagging the border because it appeared that the signal was inconsistent. I called customer service and they walked me through setting it up. (apparently I needed to adjust the signal with the collar near the unit and THEN walk out to see where the correction boundary was. No problems since.

Two of my dogs barely needed any training and figured it out quickly. One dog hung out under a patio table for a couple of days after being electronically corrected until he figured it out. The Lab (a duck dog who is accustomed to wearing an electric collar) was the most confused.
