5.0 out of 5 stars Best Pet Brush I have ever used
Okay, its a silly name. I was kind of wary of buying this brush - the "As seen on TV" tagline tends to be associated with cheaply made products. However, this is an exception.

3.0 out of 5 stars Okay, But Nothing to Write Home About
Both of the slicker brushes remove loose hair from my cats well. The trimmer attachment doesn't seem to do much of anything, even on my long-haired cat. The buttons to trigger the self-cleaning attachment work to clean the brush, but the plate that does the self-cleaning is very difficult to retract in the the original position. The tines of the brush are very thin and...

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Pet Brush I have ever used, May 25, 2010

Okay, its a silly name. I was kind of wary of buying this brush - the "As seen on TV" tagline tends to be associated with cheaply made products. However, this is an exception.
I own two long haired cats - they take a LOT of brushing to keep them from developing mats. I have used a lot of different brushes, with varying degrees of success. But there is no question that the Pet Zoom brush works beautifully. Not only does it work well, but my kitties LOVE it. With other brushes, it was often a struggle to get them to hold still while I brush them. With the Pet Zoom, they actually start purring the minute I pick it up - and they clearly enjoy being brushed with it. The Brush is well made, solid, and the self cleaning function works very well. I gave the larger brush to a friend of mine who own several dogs, and he reports similar good results. I highly recommend this product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works the Way They Said It Would, September 17, 2009

My mini-schnauzer usually HATES brush time. Its still not his favorite, but with this brush, things are alot easier. I love that you can choose the length of the bristles and that they are padded so that they don't prick. The hair comes off easy and knots/tangles come out a little easier. I'd buy this again... in fact, I think I know what I'll get my sister's dog for Christmas! =)

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for German Shepherds, September 13, 2009
This review is from: PetZoom Self Cleaning Grooming Brush, 2-Pack (Sports)
German Shepherds shed year round. In fact, the two most common reasons that people give for abandoning these lovely dogs is that they shed and they follow you - I kid you not. This comb is a great tool for dealing with the dog's constantly shedding coat. The comb teeth don't stick out so far that they hurt the dog during grooming and then you just push the button on the back of the handle to eject the fur collected so far. Highly recommended.

I am always skeptical about tv items. However, I have been using this product on my cat and it works really great. My cat likes it too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect slicker!, March 11, 2011
By
This review is from: PetZoom Self Cleaning Grooming Brush, 2-Pack (Sports)
I'd been looking for a self-cleaning slicker brush at the local pet shop and couldn't find one. So when I randomly spotted this at a pharmacy, I picked it up, and it proved to be exactly what I needed. Instead of having to try to comb out all the fur, just press it over the disposal and wipe (and/or shake or blow) it off. Some will stick to it, but on the whole it's relatively very easy to pick and clean off what's exposed. I ran the brush over the Brittany every day for about a week, and suddenly, everyone was literally raving about how silkily smooth, soft, shiny, and glossy his coat became. Great effects--just like the ones my hound glove and comb (or pin/slicker brush) combo produces for my Saluki. I was surprised that just due to its shape and construction, it was so much of an improvement over what I had. And though he still hates to admit this about any kind of grooming or cleaning, it seems to feel really nice, too. ;)

I love seeing all the hunks of fur and hair it grabs off of him--because that's fur that won't end up on the furniture, carpets, our clothes, and generally all over the house. (This dog's fur, believe me, floats off of him at such a rate that he should by all logical accounts be bald! He has a knack for leaving behind a lot of himself everywhere he goes and on everything he touches...) There's no total solution to the shedding, but this is one good tool to have. Some of the thin wire bristles will still bend a bit sometimes, but certainly no more and probably less than those on a regular slicker; you can just go as easy on them as possible and try gently bending them back--no big deal at all. I recommend it to anyone needing an all-around great, quick, durable, easier-than-pie brush that'll keep a medium-to-long-coated dog looking lovely.

ETA: Just yesterday I finally acquired the Furminator, and have already become exceedingly impressed by that thing as well. It'll take a bit of time to determine how much of an impact it will have on the amount of hair left around the house, but so far, I have to recommend that product too--if only for the amazing and seemingly endless clumps you can remove with such speed and ease, and that slip off of the tiny metal teeth so quickly. (There's no need for long bristles and lengthier cleanings after all!!) It's just COPIOUS. That's the most incredibly simple (and almost addictingly fun) tool to use and to clean--and the longer you stand there doing it, the more you're shocked by just how much loose fur is somehow there to be removed; it seems practically infinite! You can keep taking more and more hair off of my dog furever, somehow...

Within minutes of the first Furmination, the Britt's coat was not only smoother and shinier, but also obviously thinner. Do it a number of times until the rake starts gathering less and less, and you're left with a nicely thinned coat with many times less shedding potential. Not that it's a miracle cure for your house, furniture, clothes, car, etc. There isn't one; hairy beasts and heavy shedders will always quickly make things hairy. But there's no question that the Furminator removes LOADS of hair, thereby necessarily leaving LESS of it for those other places. Plus, you can even use it as another tool for sweeping and gathering hair on soft surfaces, such as rugs and carpets. Although it may also lift fibers (which will probably not be missed), the Furminator doesn't seem to harm rugs/carpets, and effectively "vacuums" them of not only hair, but all manner of tiny pieces of invisible crud! EVERYthing sticks to it!

So while I definitely still love my PetZoom self-cleaning brush, I do also have to support the innovative Furminator even more so, and tell everyone who'd be considering this, to pick up one of those (at Amazon's fairest price.)

5.0 out of 5 stars best pet brushes ever made, February 18, 2011

These are the best pet brushes ever.
It would be cool if the brushes were a little tougher, but as long as you don't push to hard when you brush, they would be fine.
Don't waste your money on the ones you find in petco or petsmart, just wait for these brushes and you will be satisfied.

I've only had this product for a week or two, but it does an excellent job of not only getting hair off my two dogs, but it's also very easy to get the hair out of the brush. As long as the metal tines don't break, I will continue to use this for quite some time.

The self-cleaning feature works as advertised and is easy to use. The brush seems to be tolerated somewhat better by my dog who does not like to be brushed.
I have not yet tried the "trimming" feature, which was an attachment for the smaller brush.

Received this for Christmas. Works great on my dogs, but does not do the undercoat well. I still would recommend it!

We have 2 long hairs and this brush works great. They love being brushed and it's so easy to just click the button and clean off the hair.
