3.0 out of 5 stars Lets clear up any misconceptions, January 10, 2009
This review is from: Peta Files: The Dark Side of the Animal Rights Movement (Paperback)
PETA is a very controversial "animal rights" group. Please, do not mistake them for true animal lovers, who form groups that truly strive to protect and save animals, unlike PETA who strives to euthanize (murder) cats and dogs.

The PETA policy makers are, in my view, hypocrites. PETA members are generally good people. They just dont know the horror and the doublespeak that the PETA heads partake in.

PETA claims to want to treat animals "ethically" and then proceeds to murder them.In recent years, their kill rate has been 97%.

Murder is "ethical"? Maybe to PETA and OJ Simpson, but not to the rest of us.

Killing 97% of the animals who come into your care and calling yourselves "animal lovers" is like killing someone because of their race while calling yourself a humanitarian.

Pure B.S. 100% B.S.

There ARE true animal loving groups who strive to save (and do) animals. Groups like Best Friends Animal Society (www.bestfriends.org), The No-Kill Advocacy Center's leader Nathan Winograd (www.nathanwinograd.com), North Shore Animal League America (www.nsalamerica.org) are just a few of the groups who truly save precious animals.

So, please do not stereotype animal welfare groups based on PETA's "performance".

Most animal welfare groups are as horrified by PETA as the rest of us are.

So, dont buy the political spin that some take part in, which tells us that all animal lovers are violent, spray paint holding, terrorists.

nothing could be further from the truth.

Indeed, if you have a heart so compassionate that you dedicate your life to saving precious four-legged souls, you are indeed a loving, caring, peaceful, kind hearted person.

And 99% of animal lovers are this way.

If you despise PETA, join the club.

But dont lump in animal loving, life-revering, peaceful organizations who are saving precious souls who deserve love, respect and life, just as much as the rest of us, with the animal killers at PETA.

They are two seperate things.

Want to read a great book?

Please read "Redemption" by Nathan Winograd.

It exposes the myths that allows society to murder precious four-legged souls. It challenges us to overcome our lethal mediocrity, and asks us to achieve no-kill greatness.

May America someday evolve into a no-kill nation.

4.0 out of 5 stars Read it for yourself, August 7, 2003
This review is from: Peta Files: The Dark Side of the Animal Rights Movement (Paperback)
I should just let the original review stand as an example of irony. To employ phoney typed German accent and then accuse the book of "bigotry" is an entertaining bit of self mockery. But in case any of you missed the nice little sign the guy was holding up saying "mind closed, nothing I don't already know is true", you might want to look past the first review and check the book for yourself.
But, since the writer didn't talk about the book I will: It's a quick read full of verifiable facts about the darker side of the animal rights movement. Want to believe the self mocking reviewer that such a side doesn't exist? Get the book and decide for yourself. ELF, Animal Liberation Front, these groups have destroyed businesses and endangered human life (Rainier bank building, DFW facility attacks, the Urban horticulture center) and their agenda is about a lot more then saving fluffy bunnies. Check it out; PETA files is a good read.

5.0 out of 5 stars The truth always hurts...., March 9, 2007
This review is from: Peta Files: The Dark Side of the Animal Rights Movement (Paperback)
There should be more authors/people like Mr. Workman...bravo to him for this telling expose! Far too many people are confusing "animal rights" with animal welfare" and Workman, like the good traditional warrior that he is, does his homework with a book based on facts: not on the Arista's radical, left-wing propoganda! You know you've touched a nerve when the AR supporters get mad when they read your book...well done...Mr Workman!!
