Wow. This book really opened my eyes to what I thought I knew from reading about and loving the music/lyrics of Peter Doherty. I wish there was a way I could tell her directly how I am affected by their story. I know how having no control over your family being changed forever feels(not by addiction - but a sudden and ongoing medical illness to my hubby). Her words, like her sons (although a lot of them come from a sad place) somehow give me an unexplained extreme sense of calm. It is crystal clear to me now where he got his talent and depth from! My wish for their family is the same as it is for mine - I hope it is never too late to live happily ever after. I hope he realizes one day soon that life is short, we are only here for a visit - and his addictions are one day nothing but a bad memory for all of them. It all boils down to your family and loved ones. Everyone and everything else needs to come second to that.
