A very tasty collection of songs here by Santa Cruz, CA writer, musician and producer Pete Lacey. The self-titled debut is classy and sophisticated and brings to mind the classics of Chuck Mangione, Maynard Ferguson and David Foster as far as the melodies and instrumentation goes, however, while the sensibilities of Pete's music may be timeless, the notions are new and contemporary... such as beats infused with cool rhythms traversing between pop/rock and modern jazz. Radio is "Cloud's Rest" which has been featured on radio stations around the world... the artist not only writes and produces his music, but he also plays keyboards, horns and drums!
