Book Description

October 29, 2002
Break out your kevlar! Pete the P.O.Â’d Postal WorkerÂ’s gonna give you both barrels of full metal jacket, full auto, no prisoners taken, Pete adventures in his first Trade Paperback. These are the first five issues of Pete that drew raves from Previews, Comic Retailer, Wizard, Comic Buyers Guide and Postal Workers nationwide. You get a full 142 pages of art that will make you respect your local postal worker, if not fear them. Going Postal is what Pete does on a good day.

The explosive first issue leads to Pete’s relocation to maximum security. But his incarceration is short lived, as are the lives of fellow inmates. Then he’s back on the street for unforgettable deliveries to a militia group, terrorists and carnivorous aliens hiding in Roswell, New Mexico. Pete finishes with a well-deserved vacation in England replete with girlfriend, heartbreak and knighthood. Says Previews Small Press Snapshot, "Imagine Quentin Tarantino directing ‘Il Postino.’"

About the Author

Marcus P. Meleton Jr. is an aerospace engineer, writer and mediocre surfer. He has a degree in Computer Science (University of Southwestern Louisiana), which did not aid him in becoming a chick magnet as he had intended so he went on to his first career as an Air Force Officer at the Pentagon. He left the service five years later as a Captain and obtained an MBA at the University of Georgia before returning to work in Dallas, Texas and then Southern California. His first book was the satirical Nice Guys DonÂ’t Get Laid, which was written to train men how to become the Marlon Brando / James Dean disaster women ache for. Everything went downhill from there with appearances on GERALDO, MONTEL, and LEEZA, and over 1000 radio interviews internationally.

His second book was an environmental effort, Hunting For Lawyers, which proposed a hunting season for lawyers to reduce the herds to a manageable size. Then it was on to The Adventures of Liberal Man and Pete the P.O.Â’d Postal Worker comics as he digressed back to an adolescent state. With Madonna and Bill Clinton as media worthy for this generation, it was only natural that MeletonÂ’s satire has garnered a huge amount of coverage including USA Today, The Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, Dallas Morning News, San Francisco Examiner and The Washington Times.

Meleton lives in Southern California and is the father of Brittany and Marcus III, and the obnoxious husband of his lovely wife Marjorie.

1.0 out of 5 stars worst purchase of the holiday season, January 18, 2008
This review is from: Pete the P.O.'d Postal Worker (Paperback)
I purchased this book as a gag gift for a postal worker and found it to be very blah! I was not funny at all even tho I definitely understood the point that was trying to be made. The drawings were aweful and the book overall was very difficult to read for something that I expected to be a quick and funny read.
