5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent collection (but not a complete collection)
This is a great collection for any new fan of Peter Cetera's. His most prominent hits are featured here like the ballads "Glory Of Love" and "You're The Inspiration" as well as the up-tempo pop songs "End Of Camelot" and "Perfect World". But for more long-standing fans this compilation is missing a few gems. Classics like "One Good Woman", "Even A Fool Can See", and "No...

3.0 out of 5 stars could have been better
Ok Peter...what happened? Sorry folks but this CD is quite a let down for me even as a huge Chicago as well as a Peter Cetera fan. I would have thought if he were going to do a collection of "greatest" hits he would have delved a bit deeper and come up with more than this. Most of these I haven't even heard and new versions of old classics? PASS. Leave well...

I would have thought if he were going to do a collection of "greatest" hits he would have delved a bit deeper and come up with more than this. Most of these I haven't even heard and new versions of old classics? PASS. Leave well enough alone guys. One more thing I want to rant about and thats this..does ANYONE besides me remember Peter's first solo record? Remember "Livin in the Limelight"? That tune STILL kicks ass! Why isn't it on here? why isn't it even on CD? Peter still has an awsome voice as ever but I personally would like to see him grow a pair and rock like he used to with his chicago bandmates...nuff said.

1.0 out of 5 stars CD is COPY PROTECTED AND WILL NOT PLAY ON MANY UNITS, February 13, 2005
This review is from: Peter Cetera - Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
While I understand why the RIAA industry and record labels want to protect their music - don't sell me things that won't play on certain players and computers. That is about as close to stealing as you can get. Isn't there laws about false advertisment? And why is Amazon not doing anything or even warning people?

After paying my money and waiting four weeks to get this CD, I see that there is print - so small on the back of the CD that only perfect vision could read under strong lights - stating that it will not play on a computer. What about my car - it doesn't play there either.

Shame on you Amazon for selling things like this without fair warning. Even cigarette companies print the warning so people can read it.

1.0 out of 5 stars 5 Stars for Music. 1 Star for copy protection., October 16, 2003
This review is from: Peter Cetera - Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
This CD (and all published by Edel since summer of 2002) use copy protection. It cannot be played on a computer. This CD is being returned to Amazon as defective.

Shame on you for selling it in the first place......

But for more long-standing fans this compilation is missing a few gems. Classics like "One Good Woman", "Even A Fool Can See", and "No Explanation" did not make the cut. In the future, I hope that Peter Cetera can aquire the rights to his whole catalog of music so that he can release a complete singles collection, maybe even including some old rarities like "Stay With Me" and "Living In The Limelight". All in all, a very good buy!

1.0 out of 5 stars Greatest Hits? In What Country, July 23, 2005
This review is from: Peter Cetera - Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
OK, I will admit up front that I do not own this CD. And after reading the track list and the reviews, I will not be buying this CD either. And what do you get for your nearly $30 (with shipping)? Well, you get one or two original hits, a handful of Chicago remakes and a lot of songs I've never heard before. And they have the nerve to call this collection of songs his "Greatest Hits?"
I can't help but wonder if Peter Cetera had any input on the production of this CD. For his sake and reputation, I hope not. Where are songs like Daddy's Girl, One Good Woman and Next Time I Fall (with Amy Grant)? I'd recommend that you spend the money on his other studio CD's and make your own Greatest hits CD that you can play on all machines. Sorry PC, but this is sloppy and inexcusable and does not deserve the title of "Greatest Hits." One final nail in the coffin of this CD. The editorial review makes reference to the song 'Hard To Say I'm Sorry' but I don't see it in the track list anywhere. Folks, save your money and wait for a better Peter Cetera collection that will live up to the name of Greatest Hits because this one does not.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a voice!, September 28, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Peter Cetera - Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
This guy is truly a pop vocal gem and it's ashamed he doesn't sing anymore. The songs on this CD span over 3 decades of great musicianship. This is the only 'greatest hits' collection of his that I know of on the market so that makes it worth the buy. If you want a softer collection though, look for his 'Your The Inspiration' CD. Very romantic!

1.0 out of 5 stars Amazon Screwed Up On This One, June 13, 2006

I spend perhaps $10,000 a year with Amazon and rarely have I ever been unhappy. But after paying top dollar for this cd I was very unhappy to find that I cant put it on my Ipod. I am a Cruise ship worker, I have no "home" so I put music on ipod and leave CD's in storage. This is a total waste of $25 for me.

1.0 out of 5 stars Thanks for nothing, December 7, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Peter Cetera - Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
I have no idea how this CD sounds, as it will not play on my computer. My computer is my only source of playing CDs. I also will be sending mine back and would hope in the near future that customers will be warned about this before purchase. If they can make a CD that cannot be played on a computer, can they not make one that can be played but not burned or copied? VCR tapes have figured this technology out, why not CD manufacturers? I am so disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Warm & sincere, October 19, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Peter Cetera - Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
I am very pleased to have Peter Cetera-Greatest Hits. I listen to it every day for personal inspiration. He comes across warm & sincere, and reminds me of how precious true love is. I also give credit to his backup singers & musicians. They all are the best! I will be ordering more of his music.
Sincerely,
Gail of the Eastern Sierras, CA.
