About the Author
Captain Hans Mateboer is a real cruise ship captain. One of his goals was to make the 'Peter the Cruise Ship series as realistic as possible. All situations in the books do happen in real life too. For this reason, this book closely follows the mind of a child, as it freely and requently moves from fiction to non fiction.

Great Book!!!!!!,

My son is 2 years and 7 months old and absolutely loves this book! It is his favorite boat book and he really likes the storyline and pictures a lot. I would consider this book to be on the same lines as the "Thomas the Tank Engine" series except the pictures are much better! There are multiple characters just like "Thomas" as well as the same sort of storyline that you would find in the "Thomas" books. A great book for any child who loves boats or finds the "Thomas the Tank Engine" stories great!

I have purchased several copies of this book, autographed by the authored at a book signing, as gifts and the children I've given it to have truly loved it. Captain Mateboer is a statuesque gentleman and a real cruise captain on the Holland America Cruise Lines. He is very impressive in person and writes in such a way that captivates a child's imagination. It is my understanding that he is already in development for a new Peter adventure. I can't wait for the next book to come out. It will be on my list again for children this coming year.
