4.0 out of 5 stars A good book for intermediate computer users
This is a good book for people wanting to delve a little deeper into computers, but does not want to hit the wall of words and acyronyms that they do not understand, Peter Norton writes well, and explains things well enough so you can get things done, while understanding how things work. I would say this is not for beginners nor for the casual user. And this is not for...

2.0 out of 5 stars Complete?
I've referred to this book several times over the last couple years and it has offered no help. Norton's book is too general to be of any use. I would rather have five books that cover just a few topics with depth and clarity than one book that skims many topics and helps me with none, like this one.

This is a good book for people wanting to delve a little deeper into computers, but does not want to hit the wall of words and acyronyms that they do not understand, Peter Norton writes well, and explains things well enough so you can get things done, while understanding how things work. I would say this is not for beginners nor for the casual user. And this is not for the advanced user either, for that I reccomend Upgrading and Repairing PC's 10th Ed. ISBN 0789716364 by Scott Mueller and Craig Zacker.

This book was as good as they get. I think Norton knows all there is to know about a PC. I found form the simple item to the most complex was a breeze with this series. Folks dont waste money on anything less than this book! It Rocks

2.0 out of 5 stars Peter Norton's Book, May 2, 2000
This review is from: Peter Norton's Complete Guide to PC Upgrades (2nd Edition) (Peter Norton (Sams)) (Paperback)
Too much general information, Not near enough pictures to follow. You need to have had some experience with a computer before trying to use this book. Stick with Anti-Virus software Peter!
