Peter Pan as it's meant to be!, December 6, 2003
This review is from: Peter Pan & the Pirates - Ghost Ship [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Fox's Peter Pan and the Pirates is without a doubt the best version of J. M. Barrie's classic story. If you are a fan of Disney's version of Peter Pan, definately try this, and see Neverland as it's supposed to be.
Fox's Peter Pan and the Pirates shows a depth that is severely lacking in modern cartoons. Contrary to Disney's version, the characters have personality, and this version shows an energy that is lacking in Disney's version.
James Hook is absoulutley amazing. I've often had to resort to a dictionary after watching an episode, because Hook's vocabulary in the show is very extensive. He quotes Shakespeare alot, and his education is very noticable. Hook is not a coward, prissy character as in Disney's version, and Tim Curry's preformance is absolutley perfect.
Now, this episode itself: Peter Pan is pitted against the supernatural as The Rake, Hook's Brother's ghost ship, returns to Neverland after his treasure is found in a cave. Peter and Hook must fight to save themselves and Neverland from the evil power of the Ghost of Hook's murdered brother.
The animation is great, the music is beautiful, and the show leaves you with a feeling of adventure!
If this video comes back into stock, I highly advise this for your children, and even for adults!

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Peter Pan & the Pirates - Ghost Ship [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I haven't seen this show in a long time. But I still remember it. It was one of my favorite shows, until it retired and never went on anymore. Captain Hook is kinda annoying, but other than that, this show is worth the buy!
