This review is from: Peter, Peter, Pizza-Eater: And Other Silly Rhymes (Hardcover)
I bought this book after seeing it a friend's house. I was babysitting her young daughter, and I read it to her that evening. I was struck by the creative way the author took childrens' poems I'd heard all my life and turned them into something unusual and funny with modern-day references. I think some of them were even funnier because, as an adult, I can appreciate the way he changed the poems to make them more interesting. There are updated versions of "Mary Had a Little Lamb," "Peter, Peter, Pumpkin Eater," "There Was an Old Lady," "Rub-a-Dub-Dub," and many, many more. It made me laugh, and had this book been around when my daughter was younger, it would have been ours much sooner. It's a keeper!
