Peter on the Shore was given to me by the priest in charge of vocations for my diocese. I received it at a meeting with him in which I was starting the application process to enter the seminary. I have just completed the book and I found it very easy to read. Most if not all of the chapters had something in them that related very personally to my search for and the eventual discovery of my vocation. I would recommend this book to anyone who thinks they may have a vocation to the priesthood or religious life, to their family members, or to anyone who would simply like to know more about the nature of a religious calling. One of the parts I enjoyed the most was when he talked about the attitude that is needed when praying about a vocation. We can pray for God to show us His will, but if we are not ready to accept it then we will not see/hear what He is telling us. I would strongly recommend this book as a supplement to prayer and spiritual direction. God Bless.
