5.0 out of 5 stars HAPPY 9 YEAR OLD, May 27, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Peter and the Starcatchers: The Starcatchers Series Books 1-3: Paperback Box Set (Paperback)
I bought this set as a gift for my niece who is really into Tinkerbell. Thought she might enjoy reading the history behind Tink and Peter and the gang. With every book she reads she calls me in the middle and at the end thanking me for giving her this set of books!! She tells me in great detail what has been going on in the stories. How Tinkerbell got her name, how Peter keeps loosing his shadow, why they are called the lost boys, who Wendy is, all with such excitement in her voice. She is now in the middle of the third book, and can't wait, sort of, to start the forth. I asked her why she was hesitant and she said, because there wasn't a fifth book yet!! I laughed and told her to be patient that there would be she just had to wait and watch for it. She totally LOVES this series of books!!! She can't put them down and can't wait to pick up the next book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Peter Pan for Pre-Teens, February 5, 2011
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Peter and the Starcatchers: The Starcatchers Series Books 1-3: Paperback Box Set (Paperback)
This is a great series, I got it for Christmas and I couldn't put it down. It explains everything, from how Peter Pan learned to fly to why Neverland is Neverland. When people at school asked what it was about, I sayed it was like Peter Pan for pre-teens. If you like this series, try Kingdom Keepers by Ridley Person.

5.0 out of 5 stars Imagination, December 14, 2011

This review is from: Peter and the Starcatchers: The Starcatchers Series Books 1-3: Paperback Box Set (Paperback)
Imagination, a very valuable trait to have - and to encourage in children - runs rampant in this Starcatcher Series. It is the result of combining the abilities of two wonderfully talented authors, Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson. Their storytelling skills have melded into a whole that is greater than its parts. I purchased the set for my grandchildren, ages 11,9 and 7, with the sure knowledge that the narratives (extensions of the Peter Pan story) will appeal to all three ages.

This review is from: Peter and the Starcatchers: The Starcatchers Series Books 1-3: Paperback Box Set (Paperback)
We've read Peter and the Starcatchers to our 9 & 7 year old boys. They couldn't get enough of the book. Always wanting one more chapter befor bed. We got the boxed Starcatchers set for the 2nd and third books. If they are anything like the first book in the series, it will be money well spent. Happy reading!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Time Together Reading, January 18, 2011
This review is from: Peter and the Starcatchers: The Starcatchers Series Books 1-3: Paperback Box Set (Paperback)
I was looking for a set of books for my 8 year old son for Christmas and accidentally ran across this set. I had never heard of them before. My son loves the Disney Peter Pan movie and based on the reviews I took a chance he'd like these. I read him one or two chapters a night at bedtime and he loves the story. I don't think he would enjoy it as much reading it himself at his current reading level but older boys would. We had tried the Potter books but he just wasn't that into them due to his age. If your child knows the Peter Pan movie/story this is perfect. It's got Peter and the lost boys, the pirates, adventure, etc. Even girls would like this as one of the main characters, a new friend of Peter's (not Wendy), is a girl who is part of the main adventure.

This review is from: Peter and the Starcatchers: The Starcatchers Series Books 1-3: Paperback Box Set (Paperback)
I love Dave Barry's writing, and came across these books while volunteering in my son's elementary school library. I couldn't resist...riviting and enthralling...engaging and pure fun!!! Fun for young, and the young at heart! Buying the series for my 73 year old mother as she loves the mystical adventure!!!
