This trilogy is some of the best Children's literature around. We are Harry Potter fanatics in my house. I have yet to come across something for them that is somewhat comparable. This I can say comes very close. The stories grab not only boys because of the pirates and adenture, but girls as well. Thoroughly and beautifully entertaining, it explains the origins of Peter Pan, Captain Hook, Tinker Bell, etc. I absolutely devoured them and cannot wait for my children to read them.

I read these stories first and I just loved them. Very interesting story lines explaining the origins of all the characters in Peter Pan. If I were to rate these books on a movie scale I would rate them G-rated although a younger audience may be frightened by the bad guys in these stories. My daughter started reading these around 9-10 years old and I couldn't stop her from reading! This is a child who normally does not love to read. For Christmas we bought her this boxed set. The books are very nice with a nice case to keep them in and she was thrilled. My books sit right next to our Harry Potter books. Like the Harry Potter books, each book becomes more intense. This hardback set makes a really nice gift and has all three books. These stories are for adults and for kids. Enjoy!

My son is 15 years old and I have a hard time finding books he likes to read. He has read the first two books in the Peter and the Starcatchers series and loved them so much he pestered me to read them. I enjoyed them as well and not just because I am a Tinkerbell fan. We recently saw this boxed series while in Orlando but the set was over $50. It is a very attractively bound and boxed. I did not want to pay that price nor lug them all around the park for the day. When I got home and saw the price on Amazon, I was so happy I did. We are now eager to read the third book in the series.

Best Adventure Fiction Since Treasure Island,

Honestly, I was blown away by this series - much more so than by Harry Potter, which at times seemed like an awful slog for an adult not much interested in jelly beans. The Starcatchers series only had one drawback: I could hardly bear for it to end and dreaded reaching the final page. There is adventure, innocent but still heartfelt romance, comedy, almost unbearable suspense, true horror and amazing heroism.... The pace is swift but there is still time for lyrical description - such as the transformation of the lagoon fish by Starstuff - that lingers in the imagination long after the book is closed. (Boys will probably prefer the grungier descriptions of the pirates.) This Peter may be more Disney than Barrie, but he is also an original - a real boy, with new powers and real vulnerabilities, and one gift that may be a curse. He is certainly someone you care about.

We love these books! I started reading them to my sons before bedtime. Short chapters make it easy to make it through reading aloud to 5 young boys. The story keeps them hanging on and wanting more... great way to develop a love of reading!

Peter and the Star Catchers,

The books were very good. Really good for juvenile readers. They are stories about how Peter Pan came to be. I would recommend these books for anyone who likes fantasy novels.

My 10-year old son has read these books 3-4 times at least, so he thought this boxed-set would be a great gift for his 9-year old cousin (a girl). And according to his cousin, he was right! We'd HIGHLY recommend this series!

Purchased for son when he is at this level of reading. However, I am hooked. Short chapters, simple reading and adventurous. Simple concept of good versus evil.

I got this set for my young step-daughter who is almost eleven. She used to read only Captain Underpants books, but started reading Harry Potter this past summer and she really could not put them down! I got these for her because her reading seriously improved this past summer(not that there is anything wrong w/ Captain Underpants!)and she began using better vocabulary as well as became a better speller. She loves this gift and is sure to just eat them right up and is excited to begin them! At this price, you cannot go wrong with this set!
