This album is definitely a must buy for all smooth jazz enthusiasts. I know what you may be thinking: "What am I going to do with yet another Christmas CD that can only be used one time a year?" Well, this certainly is not the case. You can, and should, listen to it anytime during the year, certainly if you love the holiday season and want to evoke warm memories of it when it is still a far ways off in the middle of summer. Given the fact that Christmas 2007 is now right around the corner, the time could not be better for you to buy this CD. It will certainly help you survive the pending hectic life that is led during the holidays. You will not regret adding this great compilation of sultry Christmas tunes to your music collection!

This is definitely not grandma's White Christmas. World famous talents, Peter White, Rick Braun and Mindi Abair, team up creating music to remember all year long. No snooze here. These musicians are live and whaling as they add zip and spirit to Christmas past.
Mindi adds a sultry tone to "I Can't Wait For Christmas" and "The Best Part of Christmas" with her lusty lead vocals. "Jingle Jangle Blues" is spirited. Joni Mitchell's "River" brings a familiar yet new feeling to the Christmas spirit. Jeffrey Osborne steps up for a deep rendition of "Silent Night."
An incredible group of stars create a superb new feel to Christmas music.

I had the opportunity to go hear A Peter White Christmas just last night in Toledo, Ohio. It was awesome. What a great performance! It was the
fastest two and a half hours I ever sat through. I love music and this trio put on one heck of a performance. I would go hear them again if they
were close. All I can say is WOW!

A friend took me to see the Peter White Christmas concert in 2004. I was blown away that three virtuosos--acoustic guitarist Peter White; vocalist/saxaphonist Mindi Abair; and vocalist and trumpet/flugelhorn player Rick Braun--could share the stage so effortlessly.

I never forgot the experience, and when I saw the Peter White Christmas cd last year, I scooped it up. Nothing could match the dynanicism of seeing this Smooth Jazz Power Troika live, but this album is a gem.

Smooth Jazz "takes" on Christmas chestnuts brings needed change and life to these standards. What is most special about this collaboration are the arrangements. Who knew acoustic-guitar solos, sax solos and flugelhorn playing would enliven Christmas songs? Well, there you go....

The highlight of this record, though, is the Mindi Abair-penned, modern-day Christmas classic, "I Can't Wait for Christmas." I say "classic" because if this song were to reach wider airplay, it could become a Christmas standard. It's that good. It was very deft of Abair to give a wink and a nod to Eartha Kitt when she sings, "Santa Baby's on the radio...." in this number, which has a bluesy feel, reminiscent of Kitt's classic.

I think the Peter White Christmas tour goes out every year between Thanksgiving and New Year's, so if you really want to do yourself a favor, don't just buy the CD, go out and see this show live.

In an age of overpaid musicians, it's nice to see people who probably need the work (and the money), coming together to give audiences a wonderful collaborative concert appearance, which is all about the audience enjoying themselves and being blown away by the numerous gifts these talented musicians possess.

The only thing I wish they had done was include a brief history of how Peter White Christmas came to be. It would have been fun to know how they joined forces to create this great album and perform live for us during the holiday season.

Having said that, it hasn't prevented me from purchasing 25 of these compact discs to give to friends and family, who now love this trio as much as I do!

I first saw Mindi Abair on the Emeril Live show on the Food Network. I was looking for new Christmas music and saw this and after sampling a few tracks, I had to have it. I was not familiar with Rick or Peter prior to this CD.

The combination of Peter's guitar, Ricks trumpet & flugelhorn & Mindi's Sax along with their vocals make this great. I especially like Mindi's new song - "I Can't Wait for Christmas". I was a little disappointed in her version of "River" - she does not have the range of Joni or Sarah McLachlan (who had a version on her Christmas CD last year Wintersong. Bottom line is 12 great songs out of 12.

I also caught them live in my town. They were GREAT!

This is positively the best all-time best Christmas cd I've ever heard. Let me say that I'm on the other side of 50 so I've heard quite a few. Mindi Abair is a find and I'm buying all of her available albums immediately. Her voice is reminiscent of Eva Cassiday and at first I thought it was her with some clever dubbing. Having just seen the live Christmas tour of White, Abair and Braun, (from which this album is derived) this collection is a pleasant reminder of a very fun evening. Its not too often that such well-know and talented artists come together to produce an interesting and entertaining album of this caliber. But that is just what has happened with this very enjoyable group of Christmas tunes.
Not only does this album have the incredible guitar virtuosity of Peter White (especially on his rendition of "Silent Night"), but we are also treated to not only the fantastic sax playing of Mindi Abair but also to her unique singing voice for three numbers. I really like the cute, sexy "I Can't Wait For Christmas," followed up by the poignant Joni Mitchell song "River." Mindi also sings "The Best Part of Christmas" - but sadly not performed for the live show. Rick Braun also gets his moment to shine with "Little Drummer Boy."
The live show was the perfect way to launch the holiday season and this album will bring back the memories for many years to come. To those who have not had the opportunity to see these three in concert (either alone or together) the album is a delightful combination of both old and new holiday songs. I would recommend its inclusion in anyone's Christmas and holiday music CD collection.

The best Christmas CD I have heard in a very long time, can't imagine being without it. Can't wait for Christmas is awesome and you'll know what I mean when you buy this CD!

Very disappointed and waste of money. I own every CD Peter White has made. The CD sounds like bar music.

I don't know what it is about this trio, but they seem to be made for each other -even though they are all successful solo artists. There is a nice song selection, with most of the vocals by Mindi when she's not playing sax, particularly "I can't Wait for Christmas', and a sultry version of "River'. One thing I don't like is these IODA discs from Amazon that don't have full liner notes. If I get any more, I will be sending them back. Not this one, though-it's too good.
