THis record is funny, touching, enthusiastic, and performed with impeccable musicianship, in addition to being the best 'Peter and the Wolf' ever recorded by a jug band, and perhaps anybody eles. Dave Van Ronk's coarse, warm voice makes him an ideal narrator. Van Ronk's guitar and Billy Novick's clarinet are terrific throughout. Possibly the best children's record I've ever heard. A damned shame it's out of print.

I agree with ProfWombat. Too bad it is out of print. The best Peter and the Wolf ever and I've heard most of them. The other songs on the album are great, too.
