I foun this one a very good book, it doesnt have any photos, but color illustrations are very descriptive and useful. Its a must have because it covers all kind of trees, even some palm and cacti. You wont find any problem to identify any tree, differences are very well noted on this book. I give it four stars because it doesnt have an overview of trees forms, it only shows leaves, thorns, fruits, but not the tree form and dimensions.

this little book is perfect to take along on a trip or picnic to identify trees. lots of information in an easy to understand format, especially for kids but not bad for the adults either.

The peterson field guides are always great...great info, easy to navigate and superb information. My only comment would be that they are smaller than the old field guides. I have pocket guides from when I was a kid - so when I bought these for my daughter for Christmas this year, I thought she'd be getting the same as me, just newer/shinier/stiffer. The pictures are better than the old ones and they are still easy to navigate, however theses are truly a pocket guide and much thinner. They are about an inch shorter and about 1/2" thinner than the pocket guides I got 15 years ago, so just be advised when ordering, these are gonna be smaller than what you may already think.

This is a handy little book, but I was disappointed that it does not include tree shapes or pictures of bark.

Not quite a guide that you can put in your back pocket but I stash this one in my backpack, often. It is sturdily designed and the drawings are large and descriptions are very accurate - Trees are actually easy to identify. I will always use this book. Recommend it highly.
