I can't tell any difference between the Peterson pickup and other brands, such as Korg, so I would go with price. They all use 1/4" phone plug outputs. There are tuners uniquely adapted to certain instruments, such as guitars, which might serve you better.
Overtones are generally more-or-less impure, and tuners may not lock onto the harmonic which most interests you. I think this is a tuner problem, not a pickup problem.
But Peterson also claims the TP-3 can be used with any other tuner, so I plugged it into a Korg Master MT1200 Multi Temperament Tuner and it only served to make this most accurate of tuners more so. This piezo pickup tuner made it possible to precisely tune different stringed with an unimagined accuracy in a variety of settings.
The TP-3 also made clear that none of the Snark or Intellitouch tuners were NOT as accurate as any of the Peterson tuners or, for that matter, any tuner that can accept a ¼-inch male plug.
This is a worthwhile investment for any musician who craves tuning precision to enhance his/her musicality.
The TP-2 solved all of those problems. It provides a very steady reading on the tuner needle and really makes accurate tuning acoustic instruments very easy. It works pretty well on my electric guitars also!
The only down side to this pickup is that the cable is a little thin and I'm not sure how it will stand up to constant stage use.
The cable is nice and long so can go over my left shoulder and to the tuner I have which is a Peterson stoboflip.
This is great for more challenging scales like D flat and G flat major where there is little assistance
from open string resonance.

It seems to have issues with hearing. The microphone on the tuner seemed to pick up faster. Peterson hd tuner.Published 3 months ago by Barry
A little tricky to clip onto the back (opening) of my harp. Certainly have used some that were a bit easier. This clip is shaped in a way that is a bit limiting.Published 5 months ago by KS
