An excellent publication. I think this is Peterson's first exploration in depth of the world of distance learning. However, be careful with the information. Just because the institution appears in Peterson's does not mean you don't have to examine it's credentials and programs carefully. There are some unaccredited institutions listed that should you choose to go with their programs, your employer might laugh heartily when you apply for tuition assistance.

This book is in fact just a directory. Can a phone directory be useful for finding a friend or a date? No, because it only gives you a name and a phone number. The same is true about this book - names, addresses, websites, names of courses - but very little to explain what is good and what is a waste of money. You will get all the names alright, but you will have to do extra research yourself.
