Our last edition was over 10 years old. You can imagine that we are delighted with this new one. Since we acquired our first one (more years ago than I care to mention) the progress is visible. This is one of the most excellent handbooks for every civilized person, a necessity comparable only to the OED and a good world atlas. So neat and so handy,too!!!

The usual high standard of Larousse encyclopedias in an updated -in fact very up to the day version. Good printing, good binding, very beautiful, mostly color illustrations. Recommended anybody interested in French language and culture or in a French view of seeing the world.

this 2009 edition has 150 000 definitions, 28 000 Proper nouns, and 5 000 illustrations. 321 maps.French grammar,and so many other facts and chronological events in history.(included is a one year free subscription online on Larousse.fr - up to date articles of more than 150 000).
I'm so pleased to have this dictionary in my collection. I highly recomended it ! Thanks to Amazon.com for their prompt and efficient personal services. The price was definitely right, and cheaper if I had bought in a local bookstore.
