I reluctantly ordered this cat house because the size dimensions weren't given; only that it would fit 2 cats. Upon arrival, I found it's as the same size as the medium dogloo listed on Petco. Actually, the two products are identical except for the following: 1, The cat condo is carpeted. The dogloo is not. 2. The dog house has a vent on top that you can either have open or closed. The cat condo is unvented.

The door opening for both the cat and dog house is the same size. I would have preferred the cat opening to be smaller.

Overall, I am very satisfied with the cat condo. It provides shelter for my outdoor cats.

My husband has always built some kind of shelter for winter for the two stray cats that adopted us about 9 years ago. We had to tear down last winter's house so I went looking for a "house" that was already put together and was insulated. Wa-la I found this condo. One came, but it wasn't big enough for both of them - so I ordered another. The cats love them and they stay warm.

I purchased the Petmate Kitty Kat Condo to replace a cardboard box my Siamese cats had used for a year. I put the bedding from the box inside the igloo and they immediately headed in for an afternoon's nap. The Condo is well constructed and is a perfect size for two cats with room to spare. I use it indoors but it would also be a great outdoor home for indoor/outdoor cats.

I have taken in many stray cats over the years, but I have two neutered males who prefer to be outside, even in winter. I've tried makeshift shelters for them on my porch, but this condo looked both cozy and durable. The first arrived today, and one of the boys has already moved in. They aren't exactly friends, so now I'm back to order another before the snow flies. I did get the Dog-Loo top with the vent and removable cap, but the bottom is the carpeted version. I think the vent will be useful if they want to continue to use them in the summer. The entrance is actually longer than it appears in the picture, great for keeping the weather out.

My (or should I say my cats') Kitty Kat Condo arrived today and I'm very pleased with it. I bought it to go in the new cat enclosure so the little critters can take a break from birdwatching for a little nap or to stay out of the rain (it rains A LOT here). For those who say it's optimum for just one cat you must have really big cats becuase my two fit in there with plenty of room to spare.

It was a bit annoying that they didn't include screws but that's no big deal really as I have a toolkit full of them. I would say that screws are a very necessary component as the top and base don't snap together very snugly and keep coming apart.

Other people have been asking if the carpet can come out - the answer is No, it doesn't which is a shame because I like things that I can clean. Maybe if it starts getting messy then I can just hose it off. It looks like the kind of easy care acrylic carpeting that would dry quickly after a wash with a little soap and water.

One last thing, there are indeed holes at the top of the opening that looks as if it was made for a flap. If you go to Petmate's website you can order a flap for 8.95 but it's confusing to find as it is actually a flap that fits the dogloo also. We started feeding a starving young cat about 6-8 months old (showed up last March after 8" snow and single digit temps) that ran up on the back deck to eat ALL 6 pieces of bread thrown out for the birds. He came and went from under my garden shed where the possums live. He would disappear whenever the door was opened and still won't let anyone near him, but when he is hungry he sits up at the glass door and bangs on it with his front paws.

Summer came and went. Then when we started getting some brutal night temperatures in late Fall, I wondered if he would make it through the winter. I had seen these cat igloos and searched stores and websites. I found the perfect one, priced right on Amazon, and it arrived in 3 days. We placed it near the back door under a large awning. It took Mooch (what we call him) about a half hour to check this new thing out and get in. We put some pieces of felt blankets and sheep skin in there, and he is now one of the most comfy, well-fed feral cats on the East Coast. (We also have 3 abandoned and 1 shelter cat that do not go out.)

I purchased this Kat Condo as a gift to my Aunt, she had 2 stay cats on her door step, the Momma & her baby. My Aunt has 3 dogs & coudln't take the cats in the house. I bought the Kat Condo so my Aunt wouldn't worry about their wellbeing. She put the Condo on her front porch & the cats love it. It protects them from the elements & it looks good too. She had the cats neutered & their happily living the good life in my Aunts loving care & in their Kat Condo.

I was very pleased when I received the Kitty Kat Condo. I had recently resorted to keeping one of my cats outdoors due to an issue with spraying indoors. I was feeling quite upset with this decision considering that we had this cat for 15 years and 8 of those years the cat was strictly indoors. He liked "visiting" outdoors but now had to be outdoors all the time. We live a a cold weather climate. We had been keeping him outside since late spring and did not have any issues with him staying outside until the fall. I was very concerned with his well being with the weather getting colder and freezing temperatures expected. When I saw this product, I thought it would serve the purpose and keeping him comfortable during the winter months. The carpeting inside was a nice touch. It was delivered promptly. The only issues I had is that the fleece cover to the hard heating pad was not in the initial shipment, although the description said that it was supposed to have been included. After a phone call to the manuafacturer, they shipped out the pad and I received it about a week later. Also, the condo came in 2 pieces; the base and the top cover. It took quite a bit of prying with a screwdriver to get the top to fit over the base properly. There are little tabs on the base that the top should fit under and they didn't match up very well. After about 15 minutes and a second set of hands, we managed to get it together. My cat went in the first day that it got cold and he stays in there now through the night. I moved it to an area that is slightly shielded from the weather because I have found that when it rains and is windy, the inside entrance will get a little wet. I am trying to see if I can purchase some type of plastic door for the entrance. Overall, I would recommend it as an outdoor shelter for a cat.

I recently purchased the kitty condo as a Christmas gift for my girlfriend's family. They have 5 stray cats that have took up residence at their home. After having all the kitties spayed & neutered...the next dilema was shelter to get them through the Northern Michigan winters. Since they already had 5 cats of their own...letting them all into the house wasn't an option. My girlfriend warned me that her mother was very "particular" about her stray kitties' shelter and was convinced that their backyard toolshed was the best option. Well...after debuting the kitty condo on the coldest night of the winter (so far) with temperatures near zero and blustery winds, Mr. Blackie and his girlfriend shared the condo with big smiles on their faces. I also purchased a heated outdoor mat to go with the condo. I was recently informed by my girlfriend that her mother promptly purchased a 2nd kitty condo (and probably a 3rd in the works) so that the other cats won't have to treat it as a "timeshare".

My unit arrived with no documentation, no screws, and the bottom (carpeted) section has a strong smell that probably will have a bad effect on your cat...may not be healthy, either. Comes in two pieces. I used a rubber hammer to force the base to the top section, then found thee screws of my own that fit the slots. After that, I put in a towel for added comfort and to try to reduce the processed smell (which is awful). My recommendation is to get some screws and not rely on the snaps. Also, leave it out in the cold for a few days and hopefully the smell will siphon off. The size is great for two cats, but is optimum for one. Screws take some elbow grease to screw in, but it's not a bad job. Still, they should have come with the unit.
