4.0 out of 5 stars Dogzilla is a hit!
My labs like this toy better than the other rubber bones, etc. Must be something about it's color and smell. They do rip them apart, so I can only give them to them when I'm watching them closely.

1.0 out of 5 stars so-so
Got this product because my Bichon loves to chew (bones, rawhide, soft toys, etc.) But he has unknown allergies and is now on limited protein sources.
The scent and color of this product was hyped as enticing to dogs.
For my dog, this didn't prove to be true. And the toy was too rigid to give him chewing satisfaction.

5.0 out of 5 stars My pup loves this toy!, October 13, 2009
My English Staffy loves this toy! It is extremely good mental stimulation. I put his kibble inside of it and it's like a puzzle to him. He picks it up, drops it, and finds pieces of his kibble on the floor to eat. Then he picks it up again, tosses it around, flips it over, and again finds pieces of his kibble on the floor. Then he pushes it with his nose some, picks it up some more, and tosses it around again, over and over he does this until all the kibble is gone. It's so much fun to watch him figure out how to get all the kibble out. I will say, however, for a power chewer like my pup, this toy should not be given to a dog without supervision because it is not indestructible. A power chewer will bite it into little bits and pieces of rubber. I consider this a developmental toy, not for chewing on. I would definitely buy this toy again and highly recommend it for any pup.

1.0 out of 5 stars WARNING on petmate products, October 11, 2011

John "NL5" (Jacksonville, FL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Petmate Dogzilla Rubber Dumbbell shaped dog toy, Large (Misc.)
We purchased a petmate Dogizilla Toy marketed specifically for heavy chewers. It did not last long and our boston ended up in surgery fighening for his life due to a blockage caused by a large part of the toy he bit off and swallowed. after MONTHS of going round and round with petco and there insurance provider and promise after promise of settlement and even at one time an offer 100$ (the surgery and bills were well over 2,000) we ended up being told they would not stand behind their product. They quit returning our calls and quit returning our emails. We I just happened to actually get someone to answer the phone after days of calling and leacing voice mails to be told that they had decided to deny any claim becuase the packaging on all of the toys states you should watch your dog while he/she has the toy and that basically lets them off the hook. Most pet suppliers will stand behind their products regardless of the liability clauses but not petmate, buyer be ware.

1.0 out of 5 stars No good., September 13, 2011

The area where the dog's mouth goes is larger than our other Dogzilla, too large for our dog. The opening for the food is too large, food falls out.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible waste of money. Gone in 4 minutes, December 25, 2010
All Dogzilla toys are horrible. I have a 23 pound Cock-A-Poo that ate three of these on Xmas morning before the kids finished opening the first present. Supposedly for "strong chewers"! Don't waste your money. They got me for $21 bucks and all three didn't last more than three minutes. A lap dance is a much better deal.

Don't waste your money unless you have a Paris Hilton Dog. Any dog with a set of teeth will destroy this thing in mere minutes.

Don't last at all! Payed $6.47 for a Large bone for My German shepherd Zeus.
He had it torn up in 15 minutes.A dollar store toy last him longer.
Just such a rip off!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Gone in 15 minutes, June 20, 2010
I didn't even have a chance to unpack the rest of the dog food, to discover my 18 month old lab had totally destroyed this toy in 15 minutes. When I told John, at [...] that my dog toy didn't last 15 minutes, he basically told me to go fly a kite!

1.0 out of 5 stars Not very durable, December 6, 2009
I have 3 labs (50 pounds, 75 pounds & 105 pounds). The smallest is an aggressive chewer, and I thought that this would be a great toy for him. I was wrong. Within 5 minutes of my handing the toy over to my dogs, the 75 pounder (Tilden) claimed it and began to chew. Tilden is by no means an aggressive chewer, so I was surprised when he began ripping pieces off and tossing them aside! I'll go back to Kong products, which they all have a difficult time destroying. The only positive is that I found the extra large on sale for $8 at my local pet shop, so I didn't waste as much as I could have!
