I am a dog breeder. I ordered 5 of these to transport our 12 puppies for deliveries. They store very well when collapsed. The negatives are - the storage compartments are not designed well as far as size and function. The plastic is not a very good quality, but this is why they are so light weight. We have already had to call for new latch snaps as the plastic is very brittle. The positives - the warranty is terrific and the service to the warranty was fast and responsive. The design is very impressive compared to most other brands. Perfect for occasional use.

Buy a higher quality if you plan to use often. I love the look and design of these, but I wish they were a little sturdier. We are very happy with them for the price.

Good pet carrier and has metal door which will outlast models with plastic doors and fasteners. Have used it a few times now and it should last much longer than the last pet carrier that I had. Has nice extras like a food and water dish for long trips.

Petmate makes an excellent pet carrier for multiple uses for your furry little loved ones! This size is perfect for cats and small dogs that weigh up to roughly 16 pounds, and other pets you may have. (Note: product dimensions: 24.1 x 16.7 x 7.2 inches) The four sides of the carrier have plenty of ventilation; and it's easy to carry and easy to assemble/take apart. Your pet gets to look out in all four directions, too.

In case your pet is skittish about getting out of the carrier when they sense they're at the vet, another reviewer of a similar carrier notes that it comes in very handy to have the carrier able to be opened from sides so that the top comes off. That reviewer sure is right! Some pets are extremely reluctant to come out of their kennel carriers. I also love the fact that you can attach the top handle of the carrier to a car safety belt. Excellent!

The plastic is quite strong. It also has enough room below the "windows" on each side of the carrier so if your pet has an accident it won't necessary spill out from the carrier onto a car seat or train seat.

I don't know if this is "FAA approved;" but you can call the company using their toll free number to find out. If this carrier is not approved by the FAA, you will not be able to carry your pet onboard an aircraft in this carrier.

Overall, this fine carrier is worth every penny you pay for it--it'll last you forever! It is easy to clean as well. Put down a soft towel or a blanket on the "floor" of the carrier and your little darling is good to go!

This is great for flying your pet. It also features handy compartments on the top to store their food in.

Works as advertised. I love the fact that the top comes off which makes getting kitty in and out a breeze. The door is made from steel too and not cheap plastic. There is also many vents so kitty can keep cool and breathe easy.

Great for trips to vet and the removable wire door allows me to keep carrier out for cat to use (and get used to) without worrying he will get locked inside. Easy to assemble and clean. Comes with top "pocket" that holds clip-on water/food cup and if using the cup, leash fits nicely into pocket. Has top loop to secure door for airline requirements (you have to provide your own rope or whathaveyou to thread through loop and mesh door).

The only drawback is that the opening for the door is narrow--metal door takes up 1.5 inches of 7.25 inch opening and only opens straight out (not flat to side). For a cat who doesn't like carriers, makes it tricky to get him in without hooking a foot or knocking door shut. (I grab carrier between my legs upright and "drop" cat in).

This is a good sturdy carrier for the price. It was east to put together and looks nice. I have a couple of 16 to 18 pound cats and this fits them nicely one at a time. I could fit 2 smaller cats in it if I wanted tho.

I returned this item. They advertise by weight of animal, but not by height. For my small undersized sheltie it was too low. I ordered the large Petmate Kennel Cab, which is better product than the Petmate Fashion Taxi and am very happy with it. The larger model is better constructed and uses a heavier plastic.

Both sizes fit nicely into the back seat of my car and fit inside the fastened safety belt.

I have a female 7.5lb cat. I adopted her from the shelter 3 weeks ago. This is her first carrier. This one is very easy to assemble and quite strong. I think price is quite reasonable with free shipping. Also my cat loves this carrier~

I love this carrier. It is perfect for our new 3.8-pound shih-poo. The price is great, too. After I bought this from Amazon, I went to a Petco store and saw the same carrier for twice the price! It is very, very small, so beware of how big your dog will get.
