This is an excellent book, and a great souvenir of your trip.
I looked hard while in Jordan, and this was the best one. Very good commentary, history, and photos. Author lives in Jordan.

Petra by Jane Clarke in a recent edition is hard to locate. The main attraction of th book is the beautiful photography. Despite several attempts I am still trying to obtain a copy in reasonable condition. The author knows her subject well and the forward is written by King Hussein. An excellent book but difficult to find and more difficult still if you want to enjoy the unspoilt photographs of Petra.
