Petrified/Remember The Name,
By Jay Sinkie "Jay" (Mitchell, South Dakota, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Petrified/Remember the Name [Vinyl] (Vinyl)
This Vinyl contains the first two singles off of Fort Minor's Debut album: The Rising Tied (CD, CD/DVD). On this album, Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda has written all of the lyrics and played all of the instruments (except strings) to create a powerful CD full of Hip-Hop and Rap beats, collaborating with such artists as: Styles of Beyond, John Legend, Holly Brook, and Black Thought of The Roots. This LP contains the tracks:Side A: 01. Petrified (Radio Version) 02. Petrified (Dirty Version) 03. Petrified (Instrumental) Side B: 01. Remember The Name (Radio Version) 02. Remember The Name (Dirty Version) 03. Remember The Name (Instrumental) Now the Song Bios: Petrified: Their first single. This song tells everybody that Fort Minor is the real deal, while the song still gives out a vibe of just foolin' around and having a good time making music. Remember The Name: Their second single. "For those of you that wanna know what we're all about..." (Mike Shinoda, Opening of song). This song tells the story about what it takes to get to the top and stay there: "This is 10% luck, 20% skill, 15% concentrated power of will, 5% pleasure, 50% pain and a 100% reason to 'Remember The Name'" (Mike Shinoda, Chorus). This song was originally intended to be their first single, but they chose "Petrified" instead.
