I bought this CD particularly for Rimsky-Korsakov's Russian Easter Festival Overture after hearing it played on Beethoven Radio. It is the best version of this work that I have heard. Great works of Classical Music have, it is my belief, their own intrinsic shape and pace. Individual performances can get these right or they can get them wrong [[all too common in recent times, especially in respect of pace]]. The version of Russian Easter Festival Overture on this CD seems to me to be perfect. All the other works on the CD are excellent.
