This is a story that everyone who loves animals should read - from the moment they can read, to the day they forget how to read - in other words, every age group. It's written well enough to entertain adults, and all the kids I know would love it. It won't make you shudder in horror, bite your nails in suspense, or gnash your teeth about political stupidity. It WILL touch your heart, and I suggest you have tissues nearby, as the author expertly conveys the emotion involved in losing a beloved companion animal. Somehow, I find great comfort in imagining my beloved furry friends cavorting through a meadow in Paradise, chasing butterflies and comparing notes about the humans they spent time with. I'd give it ten stars if I could.

When I learned about the subject of Lee Carey's new book I thought he hit the jackpot. This is something anyone who has ever owned (and lost--too bad we don't get to keep them around for our lifetime) a pet should read. Know a child having difficulty coping with the loss of a pet? Give them this book, it's suitable for adults and young adults. And it will help anyone see that our four-legged (or winged)loved ones do go to a better place.

Carey assigns each of the pets we encounter a unique and distingtive voice. Many authors can't pull that off with human characters. When they get to the "pearly gates" he even affords them a choice: Stay in Paradise or return to earth and perform one more good deed.

The book is full of likable characters and vignets that make you chuckle and cry.

Highly recommended.

Pets in Paradise by Lee Carey had my attention from the first page. So many of us have lost pets we cared about, and Carey takes us to a new plateau. Some people feel like they've lost a family member when their cat, dog, or any other pet dies. For some people, the animal was the only company they had. It can be heartbreaking.

In this feel-good book the animals who've died have gone to Pet Paradise where they find freedom, companionship and joy. The story is told from the pets' perspectives, and it goes far beyond house pets, including wild animals and uncared for animals. Lee Carey did an excellent job of capturing the traits of certain animals, and I think he'll capture your heart with this book, too.

What about the pet who worries that his owners will grieve for him or her too much? It's covered in the story. Animals who lived on the streets or in the jungles? They're there, too. Add just a hint of humor, and this book will be more than satisfying.

I would recommend this book to everyone who loves animals, including children. It promises to brighten your day and maybe it will even help you cope with your loss of a pet.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves pets. It is a comforting, heartwarming read that will make you laugh and cry. Mr. Carey is a wonderful writer who makes you "feel" the characters, not just "read" about them. This is evident in all his books.

Having waved farewell to a beloved pet just before Christmas I have to say I found this book extremely comforting.

Lee Carey enthralls his readers from the very first page. The idea of a Pet Paradise is something I've not really entertained before, but the way Lee's characters tell their individual stories makes you believe that there must be something true to this wonderful book. I hope so, when I pass over I'd love to be surrounded by the furry members of my family again.

Lee not only deals with loved pets who have left the world but wild and abused animals too.

You know what? I could truly talk about this feel-good story forever but why not read it yourself instead. You'll be crying with laughter and sadness throughout, but the question will always remain if there is a Pet Paradise for our beloved pets or not.

Thank you, Lee, for helping me deal with the pain of losing my furry pal, Sammy. :-)

If you've ever lost a pet, rest assured, he or she is frolicking in Paradise with all of the other wanted and unwanted animals of the earth. "Pets In Paradise" features Gabby from "Gabby...All About Me" fame who was allowed to return to earth temporarily on a special quest. Was she able to accomplish her special mission? You'll have to read it to find out.
Be prepared, you're going to have to put up with a bunch of cornball groaners from Otto the otter, but that's ok. Sarge, the German Shepherd, provides a few pretty good jokes to make up for him.
One of the important things Lee Carey reminds us of is the fact that all pets are not dogs and cats. All kinds of critters out there are loved, cared for, and missed by their owners when they are gone. Just remember, they're all in a better place.

I have had pets, both dogs and cats, my entire life. It's always so hard to lose our cherished pets. When I discovered Lee Carey's book, "Pets In Paradise", I knew I had to read it. I've always believed in the Rainbow Bridge for pets, but Lee's book gives me a whole new insight into what our animals probably experience when they arrive in Heaven. It's comforting to me to know that in addition to the pampering my animals received in my care, that they are also being pampered and making new friends up above. If you've ever loved an animal, and lost that animal, this book is definitely something you should read.
