Book Description

When we lose a pet, the experience is heartbreaking and emotional. In this pet novel, we get a peek into 'their' Paradise, along with a glimpse of what they are up to. One thing is for sure...we never forget them and they never forget us. This is not a depressing novel, it's a heartwarming novel that will lift your spirit and have you recalling any of your pets who are now having a fun time in Paradise with all types of animals.

What a couple of readers have said about 'Pets in Paradise' :

This is a story that everyone who loves animals should read - from the moment they can read, to the day they forget how to read - in other words, every age group. It's written well enough to entertain adults, and all the kids I know would love it. It won't make you shudder in horror, bite your nails in suspense, or gnash your teeth about political stupidity. It WILL touch your heart, and I suggest you have tissues nearby, as the author expertly conveys the emotion involved in losing a beloved companion animal. Somehow, I find great comfort in imagining my beloved furry friends cavorting through a meadow in Paradise, chasing butterflies and comparing notes about the humans they spent time with. I'd give it ten stars if I could. G. Byrge

Anyone that has lost a pet needs to read this heartwarming book. It made me smile and also made me cry!
I thought of all my past kitties I have lost in hopes they are having fun in "PARADISE". Jan Robbins

Lighthearted, yet written with deep adoration for the animal kingdom. The explicit descriptions of the pets' capers and gestures deliver laughter and pure reading enjoyment!
Marney Sanders, Va. Beach, VA

5.0 out of 5 stars A great idea and one fine book June 19, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
When I learned about the subject of Lee Carey's new book I thought he hit the jackpot. This is something anyone who has ever owned (and lost--too bad we don't get to keep them around for our lifetime) a pet should read. Know a child having difficulty coping with the loss of a pet? Give them this book, it's suitable for adults and young adults. And it will help anyone see that our four-legged (or winged)loved ones do go to a better place.

Carey assigns each of the pets we encounter a unique and distingtive voice. Many authors can't pull that off with human characters. When they get to the "pearly gates" he even affords them a choice: Stay in Paradise or return to earth and perform one more good deed.

The book is full of likable characters and vignets that make you chuckle and cry.

Highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Prepare to Feel Good August 21, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Pets in Paradise by Lee Carey had my attention from the first page. So many of us have lost pets we cared about, and Carey takes us to a new plateau. Some people feel like they've lost a family member when their cat, dog, or any other pet dies. For some people, the animal was the only company they had. It can be heartbreaking.

In this feel-good book the animals who've died have gone to Pet Paradise where they find freedom, companionship and joy. The story is told from the pets' perspectives, and it goes far beyond house pets, including wild animals and uncared for animals. Lee Carey did an excellent job of capturing the traits of certain animals, and I think he'll capture your heart with this book, too.

What about the pet who worries that his owners will grieve for him or her too much? It's covered in the story. Animals who lived on the streets or in the jungles? They're there, too. Add just a hint of humor, and this book will be more than satisfying.

I would recommend this book to everyone who loves animals, including children. It promises to brighten your day and maybe it will even help you cope with your loss of a pet.

5.0 out of 5 stars One Fantastic Read February 18, 2012
By Nikki

I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves pets. It is a comforting, heartwarming read that will make you laugh and cry. Mr. Carey is a wonderful writer who makes you "feel" the characters, not just "read" about them. This is evident in all his books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ah, Paradise!! September 5, 2014
By Dawn
Format:Paperback
I have had pets, both dogs and cats, my entire life. It's always so hard to lose our cherished pets. When I discovered Lee Carey's book, "Pets In Paradise", I knew I had to read it. I've always believed in the Rainbow Bridge for pets, but Lee's book gives me a whole new insight into what our animals probably experience when they arrive in Heaven. It's comforting to me to know that in addition to the pampering my animals received in my care, that they are also being pampered and making new friends up above. If you've ever loved an animal, and lost that animal, this book is definitely something you should read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautifully written and engaging November 10, 2013
By Skyhag
Format:Kindle Edition
An unexpected and fantastical journey over the Rainbow Bridge. One can only hope that our beloved friends who have crossed the Bridge find such enchantment and wonder. I choose to believe that they are always watching over us mere mortals. This is an uplifting 'tail' of a very different kind.

3.0 out of 5 stars Pets in Paradise March 7, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is really written at a level for adolescents, HOWEVER, there are still points in the book that connected with me at a personal level. My dogs have always been important parts of my life, and there are times when some of the remembering brings tears to my old eyes. This book reminded me of some of those experiences.
