5.0 out of 5 stars Wicked Swing!
I just saw the movie and was blown away by the soundtrack. Hot mid-thirties swing that never lets up, except for a beautiful ballad, "If I Didn't Care" . The original music matches the madcap mood of the plot and a dash of classics "Brother Can You Spare a Dime" keeps us in the period. Great music to get the joint jumpin'!

3.0 out of 5 stars A Bit Disappointed
As soon as I finished watching the (rented) movie I went on line and bought the movie and it's soundtrack. I was so excited the day it came, woosh, right into the player. I saw there were 18 tracks, so I settled in with my drink and all and let play. It was over in 30 minutes. What is on there is good. However each song is only a few minutes long, if that. LOTS of them...

We went to see this movie on a rainy, Saturday afternoon and after seeing, and loving, the movie, I had to have the soundtrack. How can you miss with Cole Porter music playing in the background of one of the best movies ever made? Don't miss either!

This soundtrack is wonderful, just like the movie. Amy Adams and Lee Pace are particularly lovely in the duet "If I Didn't Care" which breaks my heart and makes me smile every time I hear it!

There was so much wonderful music in the film!! I don't understand why the soundtrack is a snippet of what's there.

This was a very interesting and fun movie, with a wonderful soundtrack. the big band sound is definately prominent and there were some great orchestrations. I did miss a couple of selections that were in the movie by Cole Porter. Don't know why they werent on the CD. But, all in all it's some very good music.

If you have not seen this film, listen to this soundtrack for the music alone and you will be pursuaded to rent and/or buy the film. It's lovely. The 1930's jazz and swing is wonderful. Amy Adams voice is phenomenal!

I thought the soundtrack was the highlight of this movie-good though it was. My particular favorites were - "Brother can you spare a dime '- from the early Depression years [I have the original Bing Crosby version } and the poignant duet -"If You'll Have Me " Paul Englishby's arrangements wre outstanding as is the sound quality of the disc

It appears that all of the music in the film is included on this soundtrack, which is a rare treat. The sound quality is great, and the music is fun to listen to. It's really not very long, so you don't have time to get bored. If you enjoyed the music during the film, you'll like it on CD.
