5.0 out of 5 stars Pets Dogs 2, January 13, 2008
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Petz Dogz 2 (Video Game)
This is a very fun game and is good for all ages. Younger kids will like it because it is less challenging then most games and is comprehendible. The plot is easy and understandable and the characters are cute. I have to admit, though this is a great game, it is a little silly. But who really doesn't like a silly game every once in a while?

The reason I gave this only four stars on fun is because I can't really play it for the whole day. It's true that it will get boring if played for an entire day. Another reason is for its lack of challenges. I said that younger kids will like it because it is easy for them. This may change for the older ones, though.

You start out choosing what kind of dog you would like to be. Then you go on to play the game. As always, there is a flaw and YOU have to fix it. There's also little things to do:
Shopping, talking to other characters, fishing, catching bugs and animals, and much more.

The game is long enough and doesn't take up a lot of space in your memory card. Like I said the game is silly but enjoyable. Overall, I like really like this game despite its lack of challenges.

2.0 out of 5 stars Think RPG with dogs, March 2, 2009

= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Petz Dogz 2 (Video Game)
There was a serious lack of information regarding this game, so I'm going to post this quick review to inform others in search of it.

This is NOT Nintendogs, a pet simulator, or even the same game as the DS version of Petz Dogz 2. Those games are very much like Nintendogs where you choose a puppy, care for it, train it, buy it food and presents, play with it, and generally interact with a virtual pet.

The PS2 version of Petz Dogz 2 is completely different, which makes little sense to me. It is a very simple roleplaying adventure game featuring a puppy from a dog breed of your choice. Your choice only influences the appearance of the main character/canine, and has no impact on how the game unfolds. Gameplay consists of talking to other dogs, going on simple fetch missions, a few easy to complete minigames, and other menial tasks. The dialog is meant for young children, and attempts to be humorous at times. There is little actual voice work, so this game involves a lot of reading. You can buy and find a few items to customize you dog, but not many. This all carries on from location to location for a few hours and then ends without much ado.

Even if this is what you are looking for, the game is very shallow and doesn't deliver much. There is more excitement and fun to be had with another PS2 dog game called A Dog's Life, which I would recommend easily over Dogz 2.
If you were looking for a pet simulator, avoid this game at all costs.

Consider yourself informed. Finally.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun for younger kids, February 18, 2008

= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Petz Dogz 2 (Video Game)
My 13-year-old says the characters are cute but not believable. They all have the same personality. The music is cute, but is very repetitive and can get annoying (you can turn the music off if you want to). The villians are too easy to defeat for her; she thinks the game would be appropriate for ages 8-12.
