Petz Horsez 2 for PC,
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Petz Horsez 2 (Video Game)
i got this game as a present, and i love it. by the way my game if for PC. i loves horse games and ever since i was little i played them so now you can say that i have become pretty good at them. i have played pippa funlle, and champion dreams, and horsez, and i finished all of them but i have to say that this is the best 1 of all of them. this game is really fun, but not like champion dreams, and horsez which you have to compete and win to procced on in the game, this one is so full of choices. they put yoi right on the spot and its always so hard to choose. There are about 2 compitions a week, and you have market days in the town. You can also buy as many horses as u please. !!! Word of edvice!!! there is a lot of horse care involeved, and a mysterye. So have fun i sure did.

The description listed here is very inaccurate! I'm assuming that it's in regard to another platform, such as Nintendo DS. Now, don't get me wrong; this video game is great entertainment and lots of fun. (I purchased the product, along with another video game, a few weeks ago from Amazon.)
You start out by naming your first mare (mature female horse)--a Mérens. YOU DO NOT GET TO CHOOSE WHICH BREED OR COLOR ANY HORSE IS!!! That's the main downside to the game. The other is that the game is a little repetitive. It is still a fantastic game, however, and I would highly recommend getting it. I have already finished the game, and three of my sisters recently started their games up. I am sixteen years old, and my sisters are thirteen (almost fourteen), ten, and seven. We all agree that it's a wonderful compromise for those who do not own horses. Now, did I mention that it's fun? All four of us think so! I don't want to ruin the story for you, so I'll just explain the basics. After naming your mare, you eventually get a colt (young male horse)--a Friesian. Once he grows up (it doesn't take long if you care for him often) to be a stallion (mature male horse), you take him to a few local competitions, which you must "win" by placing in the top three. You win new equipment (like saddles, saddle blankets, gaiters, and bridles), which will not affect your successfulness but does give you a little bit of a customization option. Once you win the local competitions, you must travel to an international competition. There are three events in each international competition: cross country, steeplechase, and show jumping. If I remember correctly, you must earn first place in each phase in order to win. If you win (and you have to in order to progress!), you are awarded an additional horse--an Anglo-Arabian stallion. Then you go back and get some training. After you are trained as a "Beginner," you have to "win" some more local competitions--more this time. After winning, you have to go to another international competition. This keeps going until you get toward the end of the game. When you get to that part of the game, you have to win (get first place in) some big competitions that are on the bad guy's estate. I won't give away any more, but I do think that this was a game worth my money! One more note: You are allowed to breed your horses (no worries, parents; it doesn't show anything--just what the foal [baby horse] will look like), but you are not able to breed the horses created through breeding, even after they grow up; you can only ride them.

We got this game for our daughter, who is 11 years old. She really loves it. There are lots of challenges, but they are all attainable goals. She loves "taking care" of her horses. Good purchase. I'm not sure what some of the negative reviews are for. She loves it.

This game if really fun, not too hard, not too easy, and you don't get stuck. Graphics are really good and the movements of the horses and people are good.

Bought this for my 12 year old horse loving daughter for Christmas - she absolutely loves it. However, the horse look really off! But it could possibly be the settings on our big screen TV that is making the horses look all stretched out and weird. It's a challenging game, and my daughter is enjoying it thoroughly

This is a great game with a good story line. Most games you just have to win ribbons and your done but this game is great! You live with your Uncle Dylan on a horse ranch. But he is going broke so you have to win ribbons to pay it off. At first you just do local shows but as you win more and more you get up to the international competitions. The Grants(evil people in the plot)are going to take away the ranch but they are in the competitions against you. In the end you save the ranch but this game is so good. The one and only thing I didn't like was that the trainer and the local competition on the beach are really far away. But that is all. I also love how you train your horse and it gets faster. THIS IS THE BEST GAME EVER! ANY HORSE LOVER WILL ADORE THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I loved this game for ps2!! I also have Lets ride silver buckle stables ps2 (just okay), The Barbi horse games (okay) my horse and me wii (hard with wii controlers). This was a lot of fun to play. Like the story line. The only thing I wish was that there was side missions or when you just go out riding things to do or look for. Just something more on that part. I also would have like some color when picking different equipment for the horses everything looks the same so I never even bothered changing things because you would have to leave to ride to see what it looked like. Overall the game is great!

I got this game recently and loved it from the start. You get to care for and ride horses like in real life. You clean the stalls and the horses, and even name them, and it's all very realistic. It seems easy enough so you aren't frustrated, but you aren't bored. I gave this four stars because the storyline is a little strange. I recommend this game anyway because of the fun it brings me and to any horse lover!

Clarifying a few things,

This game has had me very very confused for the past few days. But I've finally figured it out and thought I might as well share what I've learned.
This game comes for pc, Nintendo wii, Nintendo ds, and PS2. But only Nintendo wii and PS2 are the same game. The pc version is totally different. Whole different story line and characters. The pc version is actually the sequel to the first Horsez game (which in turn is part of the Pippa Funnell series, packaged under a weird name here in the US). I don't own the Nintendo ds version, but from looking at the screen shots, watching youtube videos, and reading up on the plot line, I've come to the conclusion that it has a totally different plot line. But all 4 are packaged under one name... That said, the new game 'Petz: Horse Club', is the sequel to the PS2 and Nintendo wii version. To clear up further confusion (well, what had me somewhat confused) this game has around four different titles around the world (these are what I came across, who knows how many are out there), it's also known as 'Pippa Funnell: Ranch Rescue', 'Horsez: Ranch Rescue', 'Alexandra Ledermann: la colline aux chevaux sauvages'. and, finally, 'Petz: Horsez 2'. Why can't they pick one title and stick with it? Anyway, I hope this helps out anyone who has been as confused as I was. I'm definitely ordering this game for PS2 and when I've played it I'll come back and write an actual review of the game and not just a review on the name :). Happy Gaming! |
