THIS IS THE BEST HORSE GAME EVER. I bought this game because I love horses. You have to save your uncle's ranch from the going under. You have to practice and compete in competitions; Jumping, cross country and steeple chase. The one thing that I love about this game is the free roam. You get to pick a horse and go where ever you want. This game is great. I have played to the end about 5 times. I am waiting for PSP to come out with another game like this one. Hopefully, with more areas to explore. If you love horses, i would recommend you get this game.

A Kid's Review

This game was fun for a little while, but got very boring after about an hour of playing.
In the game, you are a young woman named Lily who is staying at her uncle's horse ranch. The rich and scheming banker Rud Van Guiness is currently trying to seize Lily's uncle's ranch and gains an excuse to do just that when you accidentally scare his prized stallion into running away from his workers in the woods. You either have to make a ton of money to pay Rud Van Guiness off or give him the ranch. You have to train your horses and win competitions to get enough money to save the ranch. Graphics: 1-5 The graphics in this game are really awful. Everything is choppy and grainy. I believe they could have done much better in that department. (Lily's uncle also looks like he could be her brother :P) Controls: 4-5 The controls were very nice. It's a little hard to control your horse with the analog stick and repeatedly tapping square but other than that they were pretty good. Storyline: 3-5 Don't get me wrong, it's a good storyline! It just doesn't keep you very interested for long. Overall: 2-5 Overall it's about a one or a two. Again, I think the graphics and storyline could've been much better. The breeding program is also very weird (the foal is born the same day!) and unrealistic to me and the training minigames got quite bothersome and boring.

Worthy effort, but play the demo first,

This is the first horse game to be released on the PSP system (that I know of; not sure about other countries). This game is the EXACT same game as Horsez 2 for Wii (it is not Petz Horse Club for Wii, even though the box art is almost identical). In my observations, the demographic that typically plays horse games most likely have a Wii or PC (or DS, for the youngest of players), which is why I thought the whole movement of Petz games to PSP a strange one by Ubisoft.
For the first game like it on PSP, it is a worthy effort. Some features are better, some are not. It is much easier to steer the horse and change speeds since this no longer depends on the movement of your hands (pressing the square button to move faster, moving the analog stick down to slow down). However, the grooming is very frustrating. I found that, in fact, few games make grooming not frustrating. Yet, if you thought it difficult/annoying to groom in the Wii version (as I did), it is more so in the PSP installment. You move the analog stick to move the brush/hoof/hose. Because the analog does not move as fluidly as it does on its PS3/PS2 counterparts, it takes much longer to groom (all four parts). The graphics are relatively horrible. Compared to the Wii version. The PSP does not lack the capabilities for decent graphics (as seen in God of War: Chains of Olympus, Crisis Core: FFVII, or best yet, in the Jak and Daxter demo [release date later this week]). The screen shots on the product page are for the Wii version. If you go to Horsez 2 page, it will be the same ones. The demo for this game is on the Playstation Store, so if you are interested in the game, I suggest playing the demo first. My impression with this game is that Ubisoft decided to re-release previous games on the PSP system just to see how they sell, as there are not many games for the younger demographic available for PSP. I have not played the other Petz games (there is a dogz one and hamersterz [sp?] one as well, not interested in those) and I suspect it is the same situation. I gave it three stars, because if you have not played the Wii version or if you don't have a Wii, it is a good horse game and deserves a play. As I said, it's a good effort. It's not terrible on the PSP, but if it was a new Horsez installment or had better graphics, it would have been much better.

It was shipped quick, my daughter is only 5 and she seems to really like the game. We were very happy to find a game that worked for girls :)

It is hard to find games for the PSP that are girl/child friendly. This one is great, my daughter (10 years old) loves it, She wants to play it constantly. My 11 year old son is now arguing with her because he wants to play it too.
A great game for girls and younger kids, if you don't want a violent game for the PSP.

My wife likes playing this fun game.
She says it's relaxing before going to bed. There is a fair amount of reading as she says her eyes get tired.

With a good imagination, a love of horeses and gammer's hand this is a great game more involved details than I expected - a good thing. You can almost smell the hay.

We LOVE this Game!!! The graphics were good and the story was well scripted. I finished it with in 2 days just wish there was another part to it besides the other shows. I'd defently tell others to by this game for their kids.
