This biner is perfect for me and my type of climbing. It works well for a personal anchor biner (clove hitch on an anchor), for a belay device, and for a Munter hitch (which I often use to belay a second on a multi-pitch. It is light(er), feels right in my hand, and has a decent sized opening. I favorite over the comparable biners because of the width of the side that is used for belaying.

Petzl Attache 3D Carabineer is very light in weight compared to others. It utilizes a manual screw type gate and is shaped like an I-Beam which is known for strength.

A indicator band hides behind the screw showing only when it's unlocked. Easy to see if your carabineers are lock just by glancing at them.

From an engineering standpoint...
-It's REALLY Light
- It's plenty big for quick clipping
- It has smooth gate action.

However, it's not without its problems...
- The screwlock has a STRONG tendency to open up on its own. Brushing against the rock, the rope, or your clothes can unlock the gate .

- The weight distribution of the 'biner causes it to tilt into a crossloading position when belaying (especially when belaying a second in autoblocking guide/reverso mode).

Honestly, the only time I'd use this 'biner is if I need a large nonlocker. That's how insecure the gate is...
