I would buy another one of these in a heartbeat!
Jenny B
It does a great job lighting up the road so I can see if there's any holes or bumps along the way; I run in the complete dark with no street lights.
JJ
It worked great and really helped to have both hands free.

Unless you need a light that can be seen from outer space, this here headlamp is a great choice. I have a gigantic noggin(7 3/4") and it still adjust plenty big enough to be comfortable. I use it mainly for running, and it gets the job done. PETZL is a great, reliable brand, and the electric blue is stylin'. 20 bucks well spent.

This Petzl Tikkina 2 headlamp is not as bright as the more expensive models, but is excellent for kids and general camping/household use. If you are looking for a headlamp for caving or biking, this may not be the one for you, but this one is an incredible value and works as advertised. I am very impressed with the quality of each of the components of this headlamp as well as its design, operation, and fit and finish. The economy setting is perfect for reading, the battery compartment is easy to access but appears watertight, and the lamp's on/off switch is far superior to the sliding switches found on lesser models. The only improvement I could suggest is an auto-off feature to preserve the batteries from the forgetfulness of my 4 year-old. Highly recommended!

I am not a hiker or a camper anymore. You would think that these headlamps are geared only for those who work and play in the great outdoors ... but I approached buying one of these lights with an entirely different purpose in mind.

I have been looking for a good, hands-free booklight for almost two years. Most of them have bulky battery packs or cords connected to AC adapters that I have to work around. It's also cumbersome to connect or clip them to pages. So, what is the answer?? This little Petzl E91 Tikkina 2. We were watching an episode of King of the Hill: The Boy Ain't Right (King of the Hill) and Peggy Hill was using a headlamp to read. That's where we got the idea! The thing is, I needed to find one that was not exorbitantly expensive, conserved battery life and was not so high powered that it would just be overkill. THIS WAS IT.

Since I received it, it's been a great choice as my reading light. It is also great when working on the inside of my computers (adding RAM, etc).

The lamp itself takes 3 AAA batteries (and the first set is included). There are two modes of operation (economy and full). I find that the economy is perfect for reading at night. The lamp is adjustable, meaning you can adjust the angle of the beam ... this is extremely helpful. The headband is wide and comfortable and highly adjustable. I have a large head 7 1/2+ and there is no problem.

I love this gadget! 5 stars easily!!

I've used several other headlamps for running before and there was always SOMETHING that bothered me (strap too thin, slides around, light bobs around, too dim), but I am absolutely IN LOVE with this headlamp! The headband is wide but comfortable. The light's mount is contoured to fit against your forehead comfortably and padded just enough, which is a BIG thing! I also really love that there are 2 different light strength settings. The higher setting is great for country roads or trails where there are a lot of things to (hopefully) NOT trip over and the lower setting is perfect for running through town or where you have the occasional street light. With either setting, the beam is wide enough to cover your whole stride zone.

I can't wait to take this headlamp backpacking in the spring!

I like this headlamp. The high beam is high and the low beam is enough for most things. The hinge works well to raise or lower the beam, and the strap is comfortable and stable. For the price it's tough to beat.

I bought this headlamp to run at night. It works really well and emites enough light to see about 100 - 200 meters ahead. My only complaint is that if you wear the lamp directly on your forehead it might be uncomfortable. The back of the light is a hard plastic and you have to wear it somewhat tight so it won't slip. I wear mine over a visor and it completely solved the problem so I would recommend either wearing a visor or sweatband underneath.

The Petzl Tikkina 2 is a small, simple headlamp with a rugged design. It does what it's supposed to do. I've also owned a Streamlight headlamp and a Princeton Tec Fuel. Of the three, the Streamlight was a shoddy piece of junk which broke through no fault of my own, and the Princeton Tec was my favorite.

My issue with the Petzl Tikkina 2 is the range of motion of the beam. You can tilt the beam down, but you can't tilt it up. The ability to tilt a headlamp up is useful to me when interacting with people. I don't want to shine light in their eyes, so I flip it upward. I principally use this light to read at night and to change baby diapers. Trust me, in the dead of night, you don't want a beam of light shining in a baby's eyes waking him up any more than he already is.

The Princeton Tec Fuel tilts all the way up and all the way down. It also has a blinky mode which the Petzl doesn't. I dropped my Princeton Tec Fuel on the ground and it broke. Maybe it shouldn't have broken, but I was particularly savage with it and feel perhaps the manufacturers were not to blame in this case. The only reason I didn't get another Princeton Tec is because I like to try new gear. I can compensate for the Tikkina 2's lack of an upward tilt by sliding it higher on my head, but my suggestion to you, gentle reader, would be to look at a Princeton Tec headlamp.
