Reims pepper and salt mills from Peugeot are stunning examples of contemporary design. Each slim cylinder is constructed of 18/10 stainless steel and brushed to a satiny finish. The large round ball on top displays either an S or P to differentiate the salt and pepper. The main difference between the two lies in the grinding mechanism. Peugeot pepper mills use case-hardened-steel grinding heads with two sizes of grooves; the larger grooves crack the peppercorns in half and direct them into the smaller grooves, which grind them much more finely than most mills. The grinding mechanism in Peugeot salt mills is purposefully constructed with 18/10 stainless-steel, which won't corrode from prolonged contact with the salt. The top of each mill unscrews for adding peppercorns and salt, while the round ball nut can be loosened or tightened to vary the coarseness of the grind.
Reims mills come in a range of sizes. A striking gift for the fresh-ground pepper connoisseur, this compact pocket model measures only four inches in height, and comes with a protective black carry pouch for travel. Care for a mill is easy: clean the exterior and inner chamber with a damp cloth; never immerse in water; avoid putting salt in the pepper mill, or grinding green or pink peppercorns by themselves (mixed with black is fine); and avoid damp types of salt (usually pink or gray) in the regular salt mill. This pepper mill is about 60% of the size of a Nokia cell phone. It is larger than a chap stick, but it is not that large. I bought one for travel and absolutely love it! I am a man and it fits in my dress pants fine, and is not too bulky for my wife's wristlet style pocket book. This thing is excellent!

This wonderful device brings a touch of class, and ground pepper, when out or at home. Superbly engineered, adjustable grinds, it is able to take a variety of peppers and handles them all quite well. Do not look for this to be a day-to-day item, as its capacity is limited, however, it fits in the pocket or purse quite easily, and is a lot of fun to bring out when dining with friends.

I own several different styles of Peugeot mills and they are simply the best. They last forever! My Peugeot Pocket Pepper Mill goes with me everywhere I go. It's such fun to use it in a crowded restaurant. When the waiter asks if I'd like freshly ground pepper, I love to say, "Yes, thank you but I have my own!" I have yet to meet a waiter or dinner mate that doesn't want to give it a twist and then ask where they can get one of their very own!
