Just the right amount of flavor.

Love Peychaud's Bitters (running neck-and-neck with Fee Brothers Aromatic Bitters - which are also sublime!)

A few drops of Peychaud are an absolute must to enjoy a traditional Sazerac cocktail ... and I find a dash with the Angostura in a Manhattan enchances the flavors of both!

Love Peychaud's Bitters (running neck-and-neck with Fee Brothers Aromatic Bitters - which are also sublime!) They add to the PERFECT Manhattan! Much better than Angostura Bitters and Angostura isn't bad, is it? It is just that Peychaud's and Fee Brothers are so much more complex and flavorful. Yum. Thrilling for the tongue.

I hear that this is a fine product. I really like old-fashioned cocktails and decided that this would be a fine addition to my bar... I purchased this product and paid my money for it. I waited anxiously for the tawny bottle to arrive... I waited weeks... I contacted the seller, the seller told me that they sent the bottle and that it was not their problem! To my dismay, Amazon was unwilling to assist me! After several emails back and forth... I simply gave up and re-purchased a more expensive bottle of Peychaud's Aromatic Bitters from my local liquor store... Needless to say, the bitters are sensational. But do yourself a favor... look at your seller's rating before you purchase anything from amazon. Don't learn this lesson the hard way like I did.

My perfect Sazerac recipe:

- 1 1/2 oz Rye
- 3 dashes Peychauds bitters
- 1 sugar cube
- splash (1/4 oz) Absinthe

Shake the Rye, bitters, and sugar cube with ice in a cocktail shake. Let sit. Pour the absinthe into an Old Fashioned glass. Tip it to coat the whole inside of the glass. Then strain the ice out of the mix and add it to the glass.

If you want to have a complete battery of bitters for mixing drinks at home or at a bar, you need:

Orange Bitters
Peach Bitters
Lemon Bitters
Old Fashioned (Angostura-type) Bitters
Peychaud's Bitters
Jaegermeister
Campari
Unicum

You can't get Peychaud's bitters anywhere else...nothing else compares. I think its one of the most versatile bitters there is. Is great as a digestif, too. I like it more than Underberg's as a digestif.

These are necessary in a sazerac. I would not, like another reviewer, replace Angostura bitters in my manhattans with this, however. They generally go well with cocktails that have absinthe in them.

Like anything worth having, this is impossible to find in my area, I was glad to find it, though it isn't as if Amazon doesn't supply just about everything. That being said though, I ordered this and it came quick. This makes for some good cocktails and fun to experiment with.

These bitters are my favorite, slightly cherry taste. Gin + Soda Water + Lime Wedge + Peychauds = Delicous. Don't buy Angostora, which pales in comparison.
