This 4 piece "Sedona" style dinnerware set by Pfaltzgraff gives you service for one. This is good when you want to buy service for one alone or as a separate setting for a family of 5 or 6 when you don't need dishes for eight. Moreover, all of these products are sturdy and well made. You get a dinner plate, a salad plate, a mug and a bowl for soup or cereal. The design of this set gives it that warm, vibrant southwest feel; the design can also go with many contemporary and even modern dining room sets.

This "Sedona" style dinner plate by Pfaltzgraff is indeed dishwasher and microwave safe. The manufacturer claims that it is also oven and freezer safe; but I can't comment on that because I haven't used it in the oven and freezer. Although this is made to be a dinner plate; this can be used as a small serving plate. You can also use this dinner plate for all those luxurious, oversized decadent desserts! Great!

The design of the dinner plate is very smart. The cream color in the center is nicely complemented by the little blue spots hand painted with care; and there are attractive multicolored stripes running around the circumference of this twelve inch wide plate.

Although the smaller plate is made for salads; this can also be used for deserts and meals with smaller portions. The design of the salad plate is very smart. The dark shade of blue in the center is nicely complemented by the warm, earthy tones with abstract shapes all around the circumference of this nine inch wide plate. This salad plate is hand painted; that impresses me.

Then there's the mug. This huge 16 ounce mug by Pfaltzgraff truly IS a man sized mug! However, everyone is sure to appreciate this sturdy mug that can hold anything you serve to your guests. (All right, so it isn't perfect for serving liquor, but we knew that already!) Pfaltzgraff manufacturers this mug to be durable so it can stand the test of time--this is nothing cheaply made.

The "Sedona" style mug is indeed dishwasher and microwave safe just like its counterparts. The manufacturer claims that it is also oven and freezer safe; but I can't comment on that because I haven't used it in the oven and freezer.

The design of the bowl is very "smart." The interior of the bowl is a warm cream color freckled with blue specks that are all hand painted. This design is nicely complemented by the predominantly warm, earthy tones of the different colored stripes all around the outside of the bowl. The navy blue stripes at the very top and bottom of the outside of the bowl give the bowl a sharp, smart look. Although this is made to be a soup or cereal bowl; this can also be used for deserts such as ice cream.

There is a five year warranty but with the great design of these items I doubt you'll ever need it! When I handle the plates, mug and bowl they all feel very sturdy and solid.

Overall, this "Sedona" style dinnerware set for four is truly an excellent value. I note that some other reviewers couldn't fit the dinner plates into their kitchen cabinets. As the dinner plate is just short of 12 inches wide, consider this before buying this set.

We got this plate set with wedding money about a year ago now. It's a terrific set. The "dinner" plates are a little big, but it's not a big deal really. It all fits into our cabinets without issue, but the dinner plates don't fit into out counter top dishwasher. Personally we use the salad plates most all of the time. We only get out the diner plates when I'm serving company. Between amazon and the factory website you can get matching pieces to decorate your entire kitchen and dinning room. Beyond the plate set (salad plates, dinner plates, bowls, and mugs) there's a salt and pepper shakers, sugar and creamer, a covered butter dish, chip and dip set, serving bowl and gravy jug. The "centerpiece" pitcher is absolutely the most beautiful thing ever. (that's all that we own so far) They also sell rugs , hot pads, dry cloths, garlic keeper, measuring cups, and just about anything else you can want.

One negative is replacements are a little expensive. I just broke the first thing from the set we own, the lid to the sugar bowl, and it's cheaper to buy a new sugar and creamer set from amazon than buy a new sugar bowl from the manufacturer. I noticed that's true for plates too, you can buy one plate from the manufacturer or for a few bucks more get a 4 piece set from amazon. Just put the extras away as on-hand replacements.

Overall I'm extremely happy to have bought this set.

We decided to buy new dinnerware for our anniversary and we are really pleased with this Sedona pattern! Everything fits in our cabinets except the 14 inch platter. Looks nice in the China hutch though. Everything fits in our dishwasher as well even the 14 inch platter! You can microwave the mug (16 oz.) with water to make tea etc. for 3 min. and the handle is still cool! There are so many extras you can purchase for this pattern from Amazon, Pfaltzgraff website etc. to complete an elegant set.

Bought a service for 16 and many other accessory items. The dishes chip VERY easily. They are huge and barely fit in the dishwasher. I have alot of iron in my water and the dishes stain from it......not sealed, kind of makes me worry about bacteria under the glaze if water can get in. They also get extremely hot in the microwave......can't handle dishes or coffee mugs even if placed in microwave for a short time. I would not recommend this product. They are pretty to look at but not for long......half of my set is damaged. After spending over $500 I now need a new set of dishes. Very disappointing.

I bought a service for 8 and many of the accessories and additional serving pieces. Probably $800 worth... I loved the pattern and it goes beautiful with my decor. BUT, within a week pieces began chipping and because of the color the chips stand out like a sore thumb. After about a year of owning them I probably have 20 chipped pieces and I live alone and they get very little handling and wear. The coffee mug handles will burn your hands after heating in microwave. Ignor how attractive these dishes are...DO NOT BUY! One of my biggest wastes of money in my life.

This set is beautiful but I still would not recommend it. Every thing about the set is way oversized. The dinner plates look like they could be meat trays, the mugs hold about 16 oz of liquid. It takes about 4 servings of cereal to fill the bowl.. so you see if you're watching your waistline or trying to maintain a "girlish" figure, this set is not for you.
The set also takes up alot of room in my cupboards and in my dishwasher. Why did they have to make these so huge!?!

The dishes are great, they look good, and the dinner plate is huge so watch your serving size! I'm very pleased with the set except for one thing... microwaving. The dishes get hotter than the food! Not sure what's causing this because upon arrival they worked fine. I thought it may be the microwave unit but it's not. All of our other microwavable items work just fine and are not hot to the touch. You can get burned taking these dishes out of the microwave - seriously. We always use some type of protection when we remove the plates or just use something else to heat the food. If it were not for this 'glitch' I'd have rated these dishes as a 5 star purchase.

I LOVE these dishes! I love that they are oversized and they are just gorgeous in real life, much better than the pictures. The plates are large. They do not fit on the first shelf in my upper cabinets because of the mounting strip. They do, however, fit perfectly fine on the second shelf. So I just made some rearrangements and put the salad plates and bowls on the 1st shelf and the dinner plates on the 2nd and it all fits fine in standard sized cabinets! The salad plates are nearly as big as some of our old dinner plates and perfect for breakfast and lunch servings. The mug is huge compared to any other set I've seen. I don't drink coffee but know that the normal tea cup sized mugs NEVER get used. Not in my house at least. They just sit and collect dust, but not these! They are used every single day by every coffee drinker that comes through our home. I have finally convinced my husband to disperse with the collection of mis-matched mugs! The only additional potential concern I would throw out there is to warn that this is not only a large set, but they are heavy! I also have not had any problems with them fitting in my dishwasher which is also just a standard, average dishwasher.

It is elegant. Pieces are large , especially the dinner plates and coffee mugs. The dinnerware has a very earthy and hand made pottery look.

Those that are into southwestern decor will love this dinnerware set. It is unfortunate additional matching pieces are too expensive.
