5.0 out of 5 stars This beautiful pattern and quality of tableware make this a good product!
I bought two sets of the Pfaltzgraff Flower Garden Dinnerware Set so that I could have service for 8.

Now, I wish I had bought one more set.

When I purchased the sets last month they were selling for $24.99 Service for 4.

They then went up to $49.99 and now at this date it is $59.99.

So, I am hoping that it goes back...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good price, Good Quality, but small bowls, tendency to mar with silverware.
I just got two sets of this 'discontinued' pattern. The product is heavy stoneware, chip resistant, and microwave safe. Lovely flower/garden motif on Off White background. Rather than a normal glossy finish, this dinnerware has a Flat or matte finsh, which then has a tendency to cause friction with silverware - leading to the silverware leaving behind some metal / mars on...

So, I am hoping that it goes back down and I will buy another set.

I also checked other stores for this.
The price is the best here at Amazon. Wal Mart had it for $59.99 and when I asked the manager for Kitchen & Household Department I was told that they don't go on sale.

I have already gotten compliments on the style.

They are microwaveable & dishwasher safe.
They are heavy not lightweight.
They don't break that easily. Proof was when my boyfriend dropped one of the plates on the floor.

They have other items with the same style that you can purchase that really make the dinner table look like something out of a magazine for a fraction of the cost.

They have two different types of bowls.
You can purchase the additional bowls, luncheon plates, etc from Amazon.
Yes, they are cheapest here as I have looked around.

You also want to see what special Amazon has going on.
I was moving to a different state where my boyfriend had already established a house for us.
Amazon has a special going on most of the time. If you buy $125+ from the Kitchen & Houseware (certain items are excluded) you WILL get off $25. You just need the code and you enter that when it is time to check out.

The quality of this tableware set is good.
For me the price was excellent since this is a starter set.

5.0 out of 5 stars Terrific dinnerware, December 18, 2004

This is truely a beautiful set. I just loved the bowls. They are a bit larger than I had anticipated, but the whole set is just too good. I was really impressed with the way Amazon shipped this set. It arrived in a perfect condition, no damages whatsoever.
P.S. If your silverware is leaving marks on the dishes, you have to get the porcelain cleaner that Pfaltzgraff makes. It leaves the dishes spotless. Also using a less expensive flatware will leave no marks! So go cheap on the flatware!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Such a happy pattern, March 25, 2006
This review is from: Pfaltzgraff Flower Garden 16-Piece Dinnerware Set, Service for 4 (Kitchen)
I have loved this pattern for years, and finally invested in it recently. It's heavy and feels substantial and well-made, not clunky. I bought four place settings from Amazon -- but my first four settings were bought used. What impressed me was how well it had held up. A little scrubbing powder took care of the silverware marks (not anything Pfaltzgraff makes, just plain ol' Ajax).

I also like the very reasonable size of the actual food area on the plate (that probably has a fancy name -- but the part of the plate where you put the food, not the lip). It's not a huge serving platter like a lot of modern plates that you feel like you have to pile high to cover blank space. The salad plates and bowls are also reasonable. The mugs are plenty big for real coffee drinkers.

It is getting harder to find the pieces, though. I'm not sure if it's a discontinued pattern, maybe. Also, a lot of the extra pieces shown on Amazon -- spoon rests, tidbit trays, some bowls -- aren't the stoneware, but are melamine. Just be aware. The spoon rest I have is a good quality melamine and is fine.

The set looks really nice. The packaging and shipping were perfect. Everything was wrapped up securely and there were no problems with the dishes. My only complaint is that the dishes have black marks / scratches from the silverware. But I don't think there is anything that can be done to prevent that.

I just got two sets of this 'discontinued' pattern. The product is heavy stoneware, chip resistant, and microwave safe. Lovely flower/garden motif on Off White background. Rather than a normal glossy finish, this dinnerware has a Flat or matte finsh, which then has a tendency to cause friction with silverware - leading to the silverware leaving behind some metal / mars on the plates and bowls. These mars I understand can be removed with Something similar to SoftScrub type products.

I really like the set, but I feel the bowls and salad plates could have been just a bit larger. I was dissapointed in that respect. But for the price (If you buy 2 sets you get $20 off), it's a pretty good deal!

I just had had enough of the chip prone/ breakage prone dishes I had before, and wanted something more durable. AND I'm an Avid Gardener!
BTW, the product title on the bottom of the plates is 'Perennials'' not 'Flower Garden'. Also, the Pfaltzgraff 'Pistoulet' looks Awesomly Whimsical, but way pricey for me Darn It!

And I want to thank Amazon customer service for being patient with me, as I called and was confused as to which items I could order that would allow me to get the $25 off $125 promotion. I did get a little hot under the collar at one point, but the service rep hung in there with me, and eventually gave me the $25 off, even though I later on found out that one product I had ordered disqualilfied me for the $25 off promotion. Thanks!

1.0 out of 5 stars More mold please, February 2, 2009

I have the napoli set and they are...

VERY POORLY MADE!

DO NOT BUY!

The bottom of these dishes aren't sealed so if they aren't completely dry they will begin to gather mold and smell. Had to throw these out after a year of use because of this.

when this arrived I was very pleased with its quality-color-packaging -everything.Only problems is that after a short time using the plates I noticed scratch marks-dark ones in the center of the plates-I would guess from where people used their dinner knives to cut their food--very disappointing-as I was ready to buy the entire collection-glad i waited..

Ordered two 4-piece place settings of this pattern. They arrived in great shape except for one broken bowl. I completed the form at amazon.com for a replacement, and the third-party merchant replaced it immediately -- within a couple of days.

I love this pattern, and the dishes are holding up well in both the dishwasher and microwave.

4.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful pattern, January 10, 2010

I get compliments on the pattern. One complaint is the large variation in shape - waviness in the plates and the bowls do not stack well. I like the size of the bowls but be aware that they take up more space in the dishwasher than others. One cup was cracked upon receipt but a new one was sent out right away.

I really love Pfaltzgraff products; I used to buy them in Gettysburg but they closed down the plant there. I have used Pfaltzgraff products for years and I am very pleased with their durability and beauty. This pattern has unfortunately been taken out of production so it is very hard to come by.
