5.0 out of 5 stars Very nice
Very impressed with this. For $20 you can't go wrong. Would make great centerpiece. Picture doesn't do it justice. The leaves have a bit of green to them (picuture makes them look black) - v nice.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed
I really wanted to like this item; the picture looked so pretty. I did not expect it to be made in China. The leaves were poorly painted, plus they were smudged. I would pay $5.00, no more.

Great addition to the Napoli dinnerware set. Keeps bread warm and looks good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Keeps your buns warm and great center-piece as well., April 24, 2009
This review is from: Pfaltzgraff Napoli Bread Basket with Warmer (Kitchen)
I received the Pfaltzgraff Napoli Bread Basket with Warmer as a wedding present and it is always being used. I am either using it as the bread warmer as it intended to be used or as a table center piece for fruits or vegetables.

As a bread warmer it is quite easy to use. Just warm up the ceramic plate insert in your oven while your breads are baking for about 10 minutes (can also be used used in a microwave). Remove with oven mitts, place a cloth napkin like these - DII Solid Set of 4 Napkins, top of the warming plate, place your freshly baked hot breads or rolls and wrap closed to keep breads warm. Made of sturdy metal and pleasing to the eye just like what you expect from Pfaltzgraff.

This bread basket is ok but larger than I wanted and also a little heavier. It just does not meet my needs.

Does everything a bread warmer and basket should do. I have the Pfaltzgraff "Pistoulet" setup, but this "Napoli" bread basket goes just fine with it. Just before mealtime, I reheat the bread (in aluminum foil) and warming stone in the oven. I recommend placing a bread towel over the basket, put the warming stone on top of the towel, then the bread wrapped in foil, and fold the towel over the top. Unless you live in an igloo, it should stay warm throughout the meal. When passing around, make sure your guests understand not to place their fingers under the very bottom, so they don't get burned.

I bought this basket so that when I serve bread it might make a nicer presentation, especially when having guests. I absolutely love this one. It's small enough not to crowd the table, practical in it's style and just plain pretty. Would definitely recommend it!

Even though the dinnerware has received bad reviews, I bought a few serving/entertainment pieces, including the bread basket from the Napoli line. Perhaps because I don't use them every day my opinion is different. They look great and serve my only purpose, which is to display food at the dinner table and at the occasional dinner party. The bread basket looks really pretty on any table setting and keeps your bread warm. It does not overcrowd your table. I have had no problems with any of the entertainment pieces. I take really good care of them knowing they are somewhat fragile. I bought them because they truly look beautiful and knew ahead of time they would be used occasionally.
