5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect
These are so cheerful-looking, and perfect for soup, chili, oatmeal, etc. because being stonewear they hold the heat in longer. They are deep enough to make oatmeal in the microwave -- the real stuff that takes about 3 minutes to cook, not the envelopes of instant -- without overflowing.

3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty but delicate
I do love Pfaltzgraff because of their whimsical, beauty and saved for the pistoulet in particular because of their cheeriness BUT , after 1 year of just my husband and I using them we only have 2 of the little bowls in the 2 sets left and 3 of the plates chipped in the dishwater with the other dishes....I wash my pans separately so we are talking other plates glasses...

Stoneware should be more durable and it does say on the net that they are dishwasher and microwave safe. I'm the dishwasher in this house and after noticing weakened areas in the bowls after microwaving I stopped.
In short if you love the design as much as I do, you will love them, just be prepared for a lot of TLC...no microwave or dishwasher and not remember they are not as durable as regular stoneware....would I buy again....Yeah, I love their designs but I know they can do better quality wise...Anyone find anything else as pretty yet durable?

These are brightly colored, elegant, deep cereal/soup bowls with a sunflower motif. They have a thick wall and are robust. They work well in the microwave oven for instant and regular oatmeal and are deep enough to never overflow. They are clearly microwave safe as they do not heat up when heated empty in the microwave oven. Clearly, the earthenware has a low water content after glazing. My only criticism is that they have no marking to say "microwave/dishwasher safe" even though the Pfaltzgraff web site says they are.

2.0 out of 5 stars Buyer Beware, January 25, 2009
This review is from: Pfaltzgraff Pistoulet Deep Soup/Cereal Bowl (Kitchen)
I bought this item a few days ago thinking from the picture that it was 2 bowls for this price. But only one came in the package. The price is too high for one little bowl like this.
