The colors of this Pfaltzgraff dinnerware are outstandingly gorgeous. As soon as I pulled the dinner plate out of the box and set it on the table in the sun, I saw an almost iridescent glow from the brown and a gently vibrant glow from the blue. Beautiful! The dinner plate is a wonderfully big size; the bowls easily hold an entire can of heat-to-eat soup, and the mugs' handles are comfortable. The complete place setting is properly weighty and has a strong presence on the table. Stunning product that I'll be proud to use everyday and for my best friends at dinner.

I purchased two sets of the Blue Pointe 16-piece Dinnerware Set in a hurry. I needed an 8 person set for some upcoming family due to visit the following week and didn't have the time to spend at stores. On reflection, if I had gone to the store, I probably would have not chosen these.

Both packages arrived promptly and undamaged. I love the size of the bowls, they are perfect to use for pasta. The mugs are a decent size too. The quality is average and the durability will serve basic everyday use. My main disappointment is the raised ridged circular line design - for the plates - when you are eating, the silverware tends to brush against the raised lines making it both annoying and noisy. I certainly won't shed a tear if one of the kids breaks a piece!

Color is beautiful. This dinnerware is heavy so I would not recommend it for the elderly.Plates and bowls are large. One plate was broken upon delivery but Amazon handled that situation seamlessly. I ordered two sets and use them daily. They mix beautifully with pieces that I have from a local potter. We have granite counter-tops and tile floors in the kitchen so I imagine I will chip these over the course of the next year. This does not reflect the workmanship of the material so much as it reflects my clumsiness.

I own other Pfaltzgraff patterns and have found them
satisfying for various reasons.
Yet, something about this set caught my eye.
Though the picture appears dark,the actual set of dishes
looks much brighter. Guests have commented on the beauty
of the dishes--as well as how great the food tasted![Wink!]
The elegance of the "Ultramarine Blue" contrasts well with the
"glowing bronze" of every piece...making every morsel
of food placed on the dish...really "pop"!
This purchase was definitely worth the risk.

When we decided to replace our kitchen dinnerware, we experienced the age old problem of finding something attractive enough for me but "manly" enough for my husband. This dinnerware accomplished both goals. It is beautiful, goes with many other types of pottery and is quite practical. The plates are heavy, but we really liked the lip on the edge. Things don't slide off. The cups are a generous size, bowls are huge and dessert plates also generous sized. We are delighted with this dinnerware.

I was a little nervous ordering these dishes after reading the reviews reporting broken or damaged product. They have gone overboard to correct this problem. I had enough bubble wrap to cover my house! The dishes are a beautiful shade of denim/cobalt blue with dark terra cotta accents. They're not completely matched, so they look like handmade pottery. They're heavy, so be careful if you have granite countertops. They're also oversized and don't stand up in my dishwasher, but I don't care. I love them. They dress up or down nicely. The bowls are generous in size (good for risotto or pasta) and the small plates are perfect for snacks or salads. You can't get more for this price. Stop stalling and order.

I'm very pleased with this set of dishes. It's distinct, durable, and functional. The only negative that I can come up with is the large bowls. They are fairly massive, but work fine overall.

We needed new everyday dishes so Christmas seemed like a good time to shop at Amazon for them. We picked this set because it looked like it would go with our newly renovated kitchen - which it does. We are thrilled with the colors, the quality and the size of all the dishes. My only complaint is that I wish the mugs were shorter however this was not a show stopper compared to the beautiful plates and bowls. We highly recommend this product!

My heart sank when I saw the Amazon box this set arrived in--one end was bashed in for about six inches, and torn, and the delivery person said, "It looks like there isn't anything in that space." Actually, there was one loose scrunchy roll of brown paper. Period. The box of dishes was otherwise uncushioned in its outside box.

But somehow, nothing was broken, and I couldn't be more pleased with these gorgeous dishes. Did I need them? No. Do I love them? Yes! ---If you're tempted, don't worry about what may seem like a high risk of breakage in shipping. They're worth the risk (and of course Amazon will replace a damaged set).

The plates seem durable and well made, but the color was not as vibrant as I was expecting. I ordered 3 sets, and I'm sending them back.
