I bought this set because my last set was Pfaltzgraff, the Yorktowne pattern. The dishes in that pattern were more clunky and chunky, although they fit in my dishwasher I wanted something a little lighter. The French Quarter set is just what I wanted. It matches perfectly the green in the new rug I bought for my dining room and it's a very pretty pattern. The plates are thinner than the Yorktowne pattern, but I would not say they are more fragile. They are sturdy and have held up beautifully. Although I am very careful with them they see their fair share of clunks going from cabinet to table to sink to dishwasher and back again, and they still have not seen a chip.

Pfaltzgraff has *wonderful* customer service. If you have any problem at all with any of their products, they are more than happy to replace any defective or damaged pieces, and there is a 1-year warranty on craftsmanship. One of my settings arrived with a broken saucer, and they shipped me out a new one immediately. When it arrived, I found they had mistakenly sent a salad plate instead, so I called customer service again. The woman I spoke to was apologetic, understanding, and very willing to help in any way she could. They sent me a saucer to replace it, had it shipped immediately and even told me to keep the salad plate! Amazing!

I purchased this set of dinnerware because I wanted something a little dressier for everyday dining. The design is pretty and makes anything you serve on it look good.
I have had this set for nearly a year now and I have had no problems with it other than one of the sandwich plates was defective (warped). I intend to have it replaced since I have heard their customer service is so good.
I am more careful with this set as well, but as a previous reviewer stated, I have had no problems with chipping or marring of the surface either, even after continous use.
I chose this brand because I wanted replacement pieces should I need them, but haven't so far. I definitely would recommend this set for anyone who wants something a little nicer for everyday use.

This is wonderful for the price and a great name. Its attrative to the eye and very stylish. I Love it!

I was afraid it'd be too dark or bright, but it's a nice light green color. The salad plate seemed a little too much at first, but I got used to it now. I also got the glasses with the sets and they match perfectly. There are some manufacturing imperfections on the glasses and the plates, but this is a good set of casual china.

When I needed to get replacement dishes I dicided to do some research over the internet. I was familiar with the Pfaltzgraff name and visited their website to find out more. I was impressed by the tradition of the company and came away with the impression that this was "american made" stoneware. This aspect was a very important in my decision to make the purchase. I was disappointed when the shipment arrived and found out that these pieces are chinese made. I thought I was getting a bargain for an american made product ... I'm not sure is such a bargain for a chinese made item.

That said I would say this set is ok for everyday use and the color and design are atractive.
