The muted greens, rose, yellow, and terra cotta of the floral pattern adorning this 2-quart handpainted pitcher evoke the play of sun and shade, warmth and fountain-cool of a New Orleans courtyard garden. Meant to complement Pfaltzgraff's French Quarter dinnerware, the pitcher is lovely enough to stand on its own. It's useful not only as a serving vessel but also as a flower vase. Made of gleaming, durable stoneware, the pitcher stands 8-1/2 inches high and is classically shaped. It should be hand washed to preserve the painting, and it carries a three-year warranty against defects.
