I bought these placemats thinking they would match my kitchen. I was wrong. The background color is a dark pea green. To me, the color on the website looked closer to cream. The other side of the placemat is a maroon with the same flower pattern. The placemats are made well and work very well. I don't use them all the time because the green color does not match. If you don't mind a dark pea green background color and you like the pattern, this would be a great set for you. Just don't buy these if you think it is a cream color like I did.

These are the nicest placemats I've ever had. The green background is very pale and goes with my taupe walls. The colors are not loud, but there are a lot of them: red, gold, green and blue, giving me a lot of possibilities when it comes to decorating the table. The crowning feature is that I can spill wine on them and wash it right off. Unbelievable. That alone makes them worth the price.

The colors on these mats can match practically any decor. I was very pleased to also see they are reversible to a wine colored background.
