Pflueger Patriarch LP Baitcast Reel

I bought this baitcasting reel from Amazon cause of all the good reviews from the Bass Pro Shop site. I almost returned it cause I put on 100 feet of braided line and the line would break (at the spool)real easy cause it way bunching up on the reel. I called customer service and was told to put on the recommended 80-90% of line on the reel. I also put on some mono-filament for a backer. Well that made all the difference in the world.
I have 3 Garcia 5500C reels that I thought was nice, but this Pflueger Patriarch reel is so much smoother and quieter. It will not out cast the Garcia reels but is a lot lighter. You will notice it right away, and after a day of fishing. I even bought a Bass Pro Shop "Tourney Special" rod to go with the reel. Now it's all I use.
It is not a level wind reel like the older baitcasters are, but after using this reel a couple of times I find that it does not make a big difference. I guess it's because the reel spool is so small.
It is a little pricey. But it sure is pretty.

I liked the first one I bought so well that I bought a second one at a better price to boot.
