Book Description

PhD: Phantasy Degree October 11, 2005
In Volume 4 of Olympus, many new characters are introduced and there are several storylines going on at once. The story begins where Volume 3 left off with Gigantes chasing Chun-lang. Chun-lang eventually accepts Gigantes as her adopted son only to see Hwee-young kill him. Alcan used his powers to give Gigantes a strange power to absorb all magical powers used on him to make him even stronger. Unfortunately, this means that Alcan also cannot control him using his magic. When Gigantes dies, Alcan sees that his experiment has failed and attempts to create another similar monster through Hwee-young. Hwee-young fights Sang with his new powers given to him by Alcan and they battle in an intense fight. Shumiro and Hexion are new characters to the story and they are elves that act as peace-makers of the forest. While they try to arbitrate between Sang and Hwee-young, a masked female attacks them. The masked female bears a strong resemblance to Chun-lang, but her true identity is never revealed. However she is a messenger from the Madosa Guild who is sent to invite Hwee-young to be a part of their team. Another new character is a guy with sunglasses. He shows up briefly and has no real purpose in this story but I'm sure he will play a bigger part in Vol. 5. Also, Chun-lang and Sang each have mysterious nightmares which will probably be explained in Vol. 5. Volume 4 ends with Sang waking up in the elf village after she has been knocked unconscious. Shumiro and Hexion have rescued her to nurse her back to health. But when Sang wakes up she has amnesia and this is the reason for the title of volume 4 - "Restart". Vol. 5 will probably show what the actual restarting will entail. Volume 4 is full of many fight scenes, not too much important dialogue. What I mean by that is that the reader is left with many questions at the end of the story. I expect that Volume 5 will explain many of the questions in Vol. 4.
