5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT BOOK
This book should be read by everyone who perform Phaco surgeries. It's a great book, with great pictures and comes with a CD too. Don't wait to have your first complication to buy this book. BUY IT, READ IT, AND AVOID YOUR "NIGHTMARES"!!!!!! I would certainly recommend it!

3.0 out of 5 stars Really Good Book, but unfortunately underserved by its material.
Dr. A. Agarwal is one of India's figures in Phaco surgery, and worldwide as well.
Being highly dynamic and facing challenging cases constantly, this book is a product of vast experience in the field of phaco surgery.
The book deserves credit for its material, many of the topics are genuine, and some articles are not thoroughly discussed in many other textbooks...

This review is from: Phaco Nightmares: Conquering Cataract Catastrophes (Hardcover)
Dr. A. Agarwal is one of India's figures in Phaco surgery, and worldwide as well.
Being highly dynamic and facing challenging cases constantly, this book is a product of vast experience in the field of phaco surgery.
The book deserves credit for its material, many of the topics are genuine, and some articles are not thoroughly discussed in many other textbooks of similar discipline.

Pros:
- Simple and easy language.
- Gives you an idea of what to do in "worst case" scenario.
- Focused not only on complications and its management, but on how to expect & avoid going into troubles right from the start. even before the patient enter OR.
- Many practical tips and tricks to make the surgery go as smooth as possible
- DVD supplied (with Videos)

Cons:
- Illustrations could have been drawn better.
- Printing & Paper quality not superior, and the high glossiness of paper causes much light reflections which is not pleasnat for reading.
- DVD does not work on windows Vista or Windows 7, it hardly works on Windows XP, and very complicated to run.
- Quality of video is not very high.

Conclusion:

This textbook is worth reading, but don't expect much of the videos. for its price i expected a better layout.
two stars lost because of the DVD problems and paper quality.

3.0 out of 5 stars Book's OK, Video's not so hot, July 23, 2009
This review is from: Phaco Nightmares: Conquering Cataract Catastrophes (Hardcover)
The DVD that comes with this takes forever to figure out how to view, it's outdated (and my husband is a techie). There are only 6 sections and they're so-so. The Book itself is pretty good, lots of good info. I was disappointed in the DVD.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent aid, January 11, 2007
This review is from: Phaco Nightmares: Conquering Cataract Catastrophes (Hardcover)
This is a very updated review of how to manage difficult cases and deal with complications in phacoemulsification. The book is well organized in sections, and the items very helpfull for anyone interested in phaco surgery.
The cd-rom illustrates selected cases, but i think it could be better if deals with all scenarios in the book.
