5.0 out of 5 stars The Phantom's role in the Royal Air Force, March 12, 2006
This review is from: Phantom from the Cockpit (Hardcover)
Peter Caygill's PHANTOM FROM THE COCKPIT: FLYING THE LEGEND is a fine survey of the F-4 Phantom: one of the most notable aircraft in the air force during the 1960s and 70s. While Caygill's overview provides excellent depth and detail on the plane's roles during these years, particular attention is given to its role in the Royal Air Force, with chapters documenting the special challenges of a new model of the Phantom as it moved from being a carrier-based attack craft to a land- based air force vehicle. Vintage black and white photos provide a centerfold of action and plane detail.
