About the Author

Born with a sponge for a brain and a passion for writing Kelly Wallace seems to have set out to soak up all the knowledge she can in this lifetime. She’s a certified counselor, natural health consultant, and successful psychic advisor through her own website The Psychic Soul, and recently…she’s become a student of forensics.

Kelly spent her childhood honing her craft and torturing her younger sister with tales of the beasts and ghouls that lived under her bed, waiting to nibble on uncovered toes. When her short story devoted to Abraham Lincoln received 5 gold stars and was displayed in the school office she decided right then and there at the age of seven that her ultimate dream was to become an author.

A lover of romance and strong characterization, Kelly believes that any story worth reading should have a hero/ heroine that the reader can fall in love with. She is currently living her dream, writing sizzling tales of suspense with paranormal elements, as well as contemporary and humorous romance. All of her books contain highly sensual love scenes and sexual tension that will make your heart race!

Kelly has lived in Los Angeles and Baltimore, and now resides in Tucson, with her sights set on Austin Texas within the next couple of years.

More About the Author

Kelly Wallace has written since the day she could hold a crayon in her hand. She soon learned though, after several hours of scrubbing, that white paper was a far better choice than white walls. Sighed at and lectured about her constant daydreaming, she put her imagination to good use as an adult and ultimately became a published author.

Everything Kelly writes about stems from personal experience. Her nonfiction books are based on decades as a professional psychic counselor and various health challenges. What about her romances? Yes! They contain scenes and characters she's known, witnessed or fantasized about, and places she's been.

Kelly was born and raised in Southern California. After 32 years on the west coast, she moved to the east coast and absolutely loved the changing seasons. However, she soon found herself in the Arizona desert for eight years. While the sunrises and sunsets could never be surpassed, she felt she left her soul behind and is once again, blissfully, living in Maryland. She has five grown daughters, various pets and grand-pets, sons-in-law, and one special guy who's become her muse.

Killed one random evening in his new home, Ian Holt was far from done with
his life. 'The Voice" keeps him on earth in ghost form, but only in his
home, which sits empty for years after his death. Paige Stanfield escaped
an abusive relationship after a decade of marriage. She wants peace and to
regain her confidence, but her ex-husband continues to terrorize her. Ian
and Paige form a plan to keep the ex at bay, but when feelings grow between
human and ghost, both know no good can come. What sort of future can Paige
really have with a man who isn't really there?

Phantom Lover takes a lot of classic ghost elements and adds interesting
spins. I enjoyed the change up with the ex-husband and the abilities Ian
had. The mother in law was also a really interesting character. For the
most part the plot was very predictable and though there were some new
things, I had moments of de ja vu reminding me of many other ghost lover
type stories I've read in the past. Still, it was a nice story and hit all
the right notes for someone looking for a sweet and sexy ghost story.

Phantom Lover tells the intriguing story of young, attractive Paige Stanfield, who moves into a beautiful beach-side California home. But it seems the house is already occupied - by Ian Holt, the smoking-hot guy who lived there previously, and died in the upstairs bedroom five years ago. With ghostly powers, Ian tries to help Paige embark upon her new life, and shows her how truly intimate real love can be. But first, Paige must take care of some old business, in the person of her psychotic, possessive, powerful ex-husband, Rex Stanfield (Wait, WHAT?! Who?!), who still considers her his trophy-wife, and is building a new children's hospital that is sure to crumble with the next Bay-area tremor.

I am not a fan of writing negative reviews, however, I am going to friendly pen one now...

I purchased Phantom Lover by Kelly Wallace as the description and marketing caught my attention: "Love knows no boundaries" ...

A ghostly suspence-romance! What the heck?! I purchased, downloaded it, and began reading. It didn't take long before I started to realize that this was going to be a very un-enjoyable book for me. Why?

1.) Way too predictable. Guy dies in house, girl moves into house, girls feels presence of ghost in house, girl is friend with ex-husband's mother (helloooo), poorly written sex scene in a dream, girl stalked by crazy ex-husband, ghost falls in love with girl and must save her ....." and on and on.

2.) A lot of eye rolling, which is never a good sign. The story just didn't seem to be well thought out ... it was all just too generic with old recycled plots. I have a hard time with weak female characters who "aren't so bright", and Paige was one bulb shy of a lighted strand. The old jealous ex-husband plot, no thanks.

3.) Cheesy sex scene is a real turn off. Don't get me wrong, I do love a good sex scene. Unfortunately what, to me,should have been a scene of intrigue in the ghost / dream world of Ian Holt (IE a scene of wonder and exploration) turned into more of a I'm-A-Horny- Ghost-Do-Me-Now porno scene. It was probably the biggest turn off of the book.

Sadly, I did not finish this story.

If you are looking for a quick, super easy read with a smut scene or two, then this is a book for you! For me, it just wasn't up to par with the quality story I usually enjoy reading. To each his own. :)

I'm a little on the fence on this one. There were parts in the book that really had me turning pages. The sexual tension and longing for the untouchable were really well described and my favorite parts of the story. On the other hand, there were a couple of times when the storyline got a little too unrealistic and something you thought could be important to the story seemed to just get dropped. (I kept asking myself why certain things were included.) The main character, Paige, although I really liked her, did some pretty stupid things and could have been stronger. Overall, it was a freebie for me so I did enjoy it.

I really enjoyed this story of a love between a woman and a spirit that gave her so much more than a mortal man could give. The writer had me so caught up in the story and parts of it had me crying because the storytelling was just so touching.

This was my first book that I've read from Kelly Wallace and I have become a new fan. I've never read paranormal books before, but if they are all as enjoyable as this one was, I'll be getting even more of these stories. Take a chance and read Phantom Lover, the only thing that is wrong is that it ended too soon!

The story was very good with a well explained back story. I wish there had been more detail of what he experienced on the other side and his interactions with other ghosts which only warranted a few sentences. The resolution was way too easy with no rhyme or reason. Also (spoiler here) wouldn't other people recognize him. They are going to live in the same area he did before his death and he was murdered not long ago-I'm sure his picture was plastered everywhere. Also, what about his destiny as a guide for others?
