Awesome with a CAPITAL A,
This review is from: Phantom Stallion #22: Wild Honey (Paperback)
This is this first book I've read in the series. We were at a book store in Maine, and they didn't have the first book so I figured it would not really matter which book you read first.
I read the backs of all the given books and decided this one sounded the most interesting. I purchased it and decided to read it in the car ride home. (Although I got sick to my stomach because of reading in the car...) I could not put the book down. It was pulling me in farther every time I flipped the page. I love horses to death, I ride weekly. I could just imagine watching this gorgeous butterscotch yellow palomino galloping through the barn I ride at. The descriptions are just amazing and how he desribes the characters emotions is just wonderful. Anyways, the main character's name is Sam[antha]. She is a horse lover and "best friends" with a stallion who leads a herd of wild horses. Their lead mare is injured so she takes her in and cares for her with the help of Mrs. Allen and Jake Ely. They soon discover that this "wild" mare is domesticated. Is it a missing horse from California, or the lead mare from the Phantom's herd? I would tell you the rest but I'm afraid I would give it away... You'll just have to read it for yourself. :)

I absolutely Luv this book! I totally agree with people out there, sometimes she (Terri) doesn't get as much credit as she deserves, I really enjoy the Phantom Stallion series and the Stallion of the Cimmaron and in MY opinion they are both great series! And if I may agree with someone else IF YOU DON'T LIKE THESE BOOKS WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING BY READING ONE!!!!!!!!!!

Longest Book,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Phantom Stallion #22: Wild Honey (Paperback)
This is the longest book in the series
I think. Sam is trying to save a wild mare but when a police officer is in the area looking for a palomino mare that was stolen from him every one thinks it's Sam's wild mare. There's this one part where I feel like I'm in Sam's shoes. It's very discriptively written.

This one really pulls everything together!,
This review is from: Phantom Stallion #22: Wild Honey (Paperback)
When I got this book I started reading it right away and it was like "Oh great, she steals another horse!" Lol. But when I read further in it I really started to enjoy it. It's about a ton bigger then the other books in the series and it's more or less got two stories going on.
Sam finds the Phantom's honey colored lead mare with a bad injury and she takes the mare to Mrs. Allens to hide her. She doesn't want anyone to find the mare because she wants Honey to be able to run free. I don't think Sam was very resoible here. It's honestly not so bad that the horse would find a new home if she had told Brynna but anyways, Then Mrs. Allen hosts this Police desenzation (Sp?) and Sam rides Ace in it. The guy teaching the "Class" Is a retired Police officer, Preston. His police horse was stolen and he's trying to find her. Sam finds out that Honey is the same horse that Preston is missing. It's a good book and I like that it ties all the stolen horses together.

Puleeeeeeeeeeeeze!!!!,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Phantom Stallion #22: Wild Honey (Paperback)
So, now Sam has turned to a life of crime in the horse stealing business. GIVE ME A BREAK!!! This is so lame. Even if the horse had at one time been domesticated, there is no way Sam would have been able to catch it,take it away from it`s friends and treat it. Furthermore, the Phantom would have gone NUTS even if Sam was familiar to him. You just can`t combine realisim with fantasy. It just make things too strange. Try reading the Spirit of the Cimmaron books by Kathleen Duey.

How are we supposed to know if we don't like it if we don't read it?,

For those of you who say "If you don't like these books don't read them, how are we to know that we don't like them if we don't read them? Oh, and the reviews are supposed to be about the BOOK not other people's opinions. I shall write how I feel about the Phantom Stallion books here: These books follow a girl and a band of mustangs she observes. The Phantom used to belong to the girl and he lets her ride him. I think these books are WAY unrealistic, but that is only my opinion which I am entitled to. Many people think otherwise. That's fine! But remember to stay open to other's opinions. And let's keep our reviews about the books, not opinions, please.

Number One Author for children 15- down,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Phantom Stallion #22: Wild Honey (Paperback)
My name is Talitha Waldner and i'm from Kendrick Idaho. ( i am fourteen years old) i've noticed that some kids don't really like Terri Farley's series, THE PHANTOM STALLION. so if they don't like it, why do they read it? i know that Terri Farley is doing her best. some books just don't quite turn out. i love writing books myself, the thrill of living your dreams in what you write is an accomplishment. but not everything (or every book!) is perfect. the one thing i love about Terri is her writing style. she gets the readers hooked with the first few words. the second thing i like best is how she thinks like a horse. i think that is totally awesome! and i really, REALLY think she deserves more credit than she gets.
so all of you snibs and snubs, grow up or get a different book! |
