I was planning on collecting the entire Phantom Stallion series in the Kindle version. This was to be my next purchase in the series. Now I see the huge price increases that the media has been buzzing about.

I purchased Phantom Stallion #6 on February 9, 2010 for $3.19. And now I see a price tag of $4.99 for Phantom Stallion #7.

The ebook version...

This was the first phantom stallion book
that I read. I liked it alot.
Callie sort of reminded me of my friend.
she'd never dress like Callie but she is
a little eccentric (I think that's the word.)
like Callie.

One of my favorite of the series, very heart-warming! Took me a while to read but every chapter was mysterious and exciting. You can almost see the characters as you read the story. My second-favorite so far. I strongly recommend this book for horse-lovers!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another great Phantom Stallion, June 1, 2003
A Kid's Review
The Phantom's lead mare is gone! Sam knows that she has to find the mare because the Phantom can't take care of the herd by himself.
Sam finally finds the mare in a BLM corral. Sam does her best to think of a way to set the mare free. But the mare has a cracked hoof and if Sam set's her free it would slow down the Phantom's entire herd, plus how was she going to do anything if she was having a huge fight with Jake? Finally Sam and Jake make up and the mare's hoof gets better and The Phantom gets a new lead mare and everything is alright.

I was planning on collecting the entire Phantom Stallion series in the Kindle version. This was to be my next purchase in the series. Now I see the huge price increases that the media has been buzzing about.

The ebook version of this book directly from HarperCollins is currently priced at $3.99! The problem is that HarperCollins does not sell a Kindle version, but refers the consumer to Amazon.com

On Amazon, I can buy a good used paperback version sent via Amazon Prime shipping ($.00) for $4.00.

In conclusion, I will wait for the prices to come back down to a reasonable cost, or will finish the series in a paperback version that can be donated or loaned to others to read for free.

5.0 out of 5 stars BEST EVER, August 15, 2003
By A Customer
This is the best book out of the Phantom Stallion so far! I love this book because its about Queen, my favorite fictional horse of all times! I also liked Callie a lot to, probably because she's out there, which reminds me of myself a little.

I think its cool how Sam helped out. I also think its good taht she sees that others may have a bond like with her and the Phantom. Its nice to see someone else in the series who believes in special bonds between horse and rider other then Sam or Jake.

And I can't to see what happens with Sam and the Phantom. I know there's going o be 16 books in the series. So don't start crying yet! We're only halfway done with the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Wonderful Phantom Stallion Book!!, March 3, 2005
I have read the first thirteen of the Phantom Stallion series, and Desert Dancer is one of my favorites. Like all the Phantom Stallion books, a lot of different story lines are presented throughout the book. You get to know not only the human characters, but also the horses, each of which have their own personality as well. I highly recommend the Phantom Stallion series for any horse lover!

A Kid's Review
If you like horses this is a book for you. This is one of those series where you get so far into the book and you can't put it down. In the back of these books there is a preview for the book coming up next. CAUTION: IF YOU READ THIS AND YOU DO NOT HAVE THE BOOK YET YOU WILL BE COUNTING THE MINUTES TILL IT GETS TO YOUR HOUSE. These books SOMETIMES can be found in your local grocerie store in the tiny book section. This heart pounding series is good for most ages.(9+) Older kids may be able to relate to the snotty popular Rachel. But most will probably be able to relate to Sam, the main charater along with the Phantom. The Phantom is a mysterical sliver horse that every one seems to want. Sam's past is terrifing to most, but that dosen't stop her from loving her horse, the Phantom.
